‘Maiam – Selected Works’: Kamal Haasan’s Old Articles Revived And Clubbed Together As A Book After 3 Decades

Kamal Haasan used to write features and articles for a magazine called ‘Maiam’ between 1987 and 1990. Now, all those articles have been revived and clubbed together in the form of a book titled, ‘Maiam – Selected Works’.

Kamal Haasan is one of the very few actors in the Indian film industry who is respected and spoken so highly about. He regularly pours his heart out about various socio-political issues and gives his strong point on what he thinks should be done. Kamal Haasan has been penning articles for almost 3 decades. Now, all his articles have been clubbed together and presented to all his fans in the form of a book.

Articles which were so old were hard to retrieve. But with a lot of effort, they all have been revived and put together for the fans and followers of Kamal Haasan, so that they can once again read them and get some insights into his thought process.

For the unversed, Kamal Haasan used to write for a magazine called ‘Maiam’. Between 1987 and 1990, he had written numerous articles and features for the publication. ‘Maiam’ was started by Kamal Haasan’s fans only. While Kamal Haasan’s articles were thought-provoking, the magazine’s main objective was to engage readers towards discussions of social progress and good deeds.

As per reports, Kamal Haasan’s these articles are being revived by Kamal Panpatty Maiyam. These will be presented in the book which is titled ‘Maiam – Selected Works’. The book has been initiated by none other than the ultimate star Kamal Haasan. At the Chennai Book Fair, the book can be purchased.

Besides Kamal Haasan, the book also contains the writings of many other popular writers of that time.

On the work front, Kamal Haasan is currently busy with ‘Indian 2’. The project has been mounted on a grand scale and it’s said to be releasing later this year. It will be a sequel to the mega-blockbuster hit ‘Indian’ which also starred Kamal Haasan.
