Lucknow, May 31: The Uttar Pradesh Government has appointed senior 1991-batch IPS officer Rajeev Krishna as the Director General of Police (DGP) of the state. He had already been heading the Uttar Pradesh Police as the Acting DGP. An official order regarding his appointment has been issued by the state government.
Rajeev Krishna assumed charge as Acting DGP following the retirement of the then DGP, Prashant Kumar.
Prior to this, he held key positions as Director General of Vigilance and in the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board.
Within the police department, he is widely regarded as an experienced, disciplined, and result-oriented officer.
A resident of Gautam Buddh Nagar, Rajeev Krishna holds a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
During his police career spanning more than three decades, he has served in various districts and important units across the state. His tenure as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Agra was particularly noteworthy, during which he earned recognition for taking effective action against organized crime and kidnapping gangs.
With extensive experience at the Police Headquarters, Vigilance Department, and Recruitment Board, Rajeev Krishna is also known for his administrative efficiency and commitment to institutional reforms.
