Singapore: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong during his two-day visit to Singapore today and discussed bilateral cooperation in technology, urban development, semiconductors, quantum technologies, education, trade and sustainable development. During the 30-minute courtesy meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Chandrababu Naidu invited Singapore to explore the import of horticulture and aquaculture products from Andhra Pradesh, particularly those cultivated through natural farming practices. The Chief Minister highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s efforts to promote natural farming and informed the Singapore Prime Minister that the state is working towards establishing robust certification and traceability systems for agricultural products. He requested Singapore consider importing certified horticulture and aquaculture produce from Andhra Pradesh. Chandrababu Naidu also sought Singapore’s cooperation in emerging sectors such as semiconductors, quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, and university-led research and innovation. He requested support in developing semiconductor manufacturing ecosystems and capacity-building initiatives in Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of collaboration in urban governance and invited Singapore to partner with Andhra Pradesh in strengthening urban management systems in Amaravati and other cities across the state. He further proposed deeper cooperation in port-led development, airport infrastructure, logistics and emerging economic opportunities.

N. Chandrababu Naidu met Lawrence Wong to boost AP-Singapore ties in tech, semiconductors, AI, urban development, trade, green energy and Amaravati while seeking imports of AP natural-farming produce.
During the discussions, Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong expressed interest in the development of Amaravati and sought details regarding the capital city’s progress. He enquired about educational institutions, infrastructure projects and the internationally benchmarked urban development initiatives being undertaken in the capital region. Responding to the queries, Chandrababu Naidu explained the vision behind Amaravati and stated that the capital city is being developed as one of the most liveable and future-ready urban centres in the region. The Chief Minister also briefed the Singapore Prime Minister on Andhra Pradesh’s healthcare infrastructure initiatives and population management strategies. He informed Mr. Wong that Andhra Pradesh is moving towards a target of generating 160 GW of green energy and positioning itself as a global hub for sustainable energy investments. The two leaders also exchanged views on global demographic trends, including declining population growth in several countries. Discussions touched upon affordable housing, childcare support systems, and policies aimed at encouraging family welfare. Both leaders agreed that, alongside the services sector, manufacturing and supply chain industries are expected to witness significant expansion in India in the coming years.
Following the meeting with the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held discussions with Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, on strengthening strategic partnerships between Andhra Pradesh and Singapore.The meeting focused on enhancing air connectivity between Andhra Pradesh and Singapore, including the possibility of improving flight services and expanding connectivity to multiple airports across the state. The Chief Minister briefed the Foreign Minister on the progress of Amaravati’s development and highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s emergence as a leading destination for both manufacturing and services industries. He emphasised the state’s availability of industrial land, skilled human resources, and investor-friendly policies. Chandrababu Naidu also highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s leadership in green energy, green hydrogen and green ammonia production. He noted that the state’s extensive coastline and modern port infrastructure provide a strong foundation for trade, logistics, and industrial growth. The Chief Minister further informed the Foreign Minister about the development of a robust data centre ecosystem in Visakhapatnam and ongoing efforts to connect Andhra Pradesh to global digital networks through subsea cable infrastructure. He also outlined plans to develop Amaravati as a “Quantum Valley”.
Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development P. Narayana, Indian High Commissioner to Singapore Shilpak Ambule and senior officials participated in the meeting.
