Vijayawada/Singapore: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu arrived in Singapore on Monday for a jam-packed, two-day official visit aimed at accelerating global investments, reviving the capital city project of Amaravati, and cementing strategic ties with Southeast Asia's primary financial hub.

Upon his arrival, Naidu received a rousing reception from a massive gathering of Telugu non-resident Indians (NRIs) and local families. Taking to social media platform X, the Chief Minister expressed that he was "deeply moved" by the diaspora's affection.

"Interacting with them brought me immense joy," Naidu posted, reaffirming his commitment to the global Telugu community for their unwavering support.

Day 1: Spotlighting Startups, UN-Habitat, and Tech Giants

The first day of the Chief Minister’s itinerary blends diplomatic courtesies with heavy economic pitching. Naidu kicked off his day meeting with the High Commissioner of India to Singapore, Shilpak Ambule, before pivoting to a highly anticipated roundtable with prominent startup venture capitalists.

Infrastructure and urban governance are central themes of the tour, underscored by Naidu's scheduled luncheon with Anacláudia Rossbach, the Executive Director of UN-Habitat.

Later in the day, Naidu will engage in high-level corporate and academic discussions. His list of individual meetings includes:

  • Karan Bajwa (Vice President, Google Cloud Asia-Pacific)

  • Lim Siang Guan (Advisor to Singapore's Sovereign Wealth Fund, GIC)

  • Robert Yap (Executive Chairman, YCH Group)

  • Prof Tan Eng Chye (President, National University of Singapore)

The Day 1 itinerary concludes with top-tier political diplomatic meetings, where Naidu will hold talks with Singapore's newly minted Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Home Affairs Minister K. Shanmugam, and Minister for Manpower Dr. Tan See Leng, alongside the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Andhra Pradesh delegation.

Day 2: The Semis, Smart Cities, and the 'Amaravati' Blueprint

Tuesday (June 16) shifts focus heavily onto semiconductor manufacturing, urban planning, and infrastructure development.

Naidu is slated to inaugurate the 'CBN@361' programme hosted by the Kakatiya Cultural Association before participating in the high-stakes APAC Semiconductor Roundtable—a critical sector as Andhra Pradesh seeks to position itself as an electronics manufacturing alternative in India.

A pivotal point of the tour will be the Surbana Jurong-Amaravati Planning Meeting. Surbana Jurong, Singapore's state-owned urban consultancy enterprise, was originally deeply involved in master-planning the greenfield capital of Amaravati during Naidu's previous tenure, making this meeting a massive step toward restarting the stalled capital project.

Key Highlights of Day 2:

  • Political Summit: A bilateral meeting with Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong.

  • Global Stage: Addressing the Leadership Plenary at the prestigious World Cities Summit.

  • Tech & Business: Touring exhibitions featuring the Singapore Pavilion, Innovators Alley, and Google Technologies, alongside corporate talks with marine and offshore engineering giant Seatrium.

  • Investment Drive: Concluding the trip at the CII Partnership Summit 2026 Business Roadshow.

  • P. Narayana (Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister)

  • S. Suresh Kumar (Principal Secretary, MAUD)

  • N. Yuvaraj (Industries Secretary)

With the state aggressively looking to rebound economically and structurally, Naidu’s Singapore itinerary serves notice of Andhra Pradesh's renewed global ambitions.
