Two new RV battery models just came out from Epoch Batteries, and cold-weather charging is the main thing that sets them apart. Most lithium batteries simply will not take a charge once outside temperatures fall too low. Epoch went after that problem directly with these two models, putting heating inside the battery itself so that it does not happen anymore. RV owners who keep traveling through winter or park in cold locations know exactly why that matters.
Both sit within the Essential Series. The 12V 300Ah RV battery is $1,199, and orders are already going through. For the 12V 460Ah model, $1,499 is the price, and pre-orders opened up recently. July 1, 2026, is when Epoch plans to start shipping those out. LiFePO4 is the cell chemistry behind both, which is what Epoch has been running with since the beginning across every product category.
Winter RV living comes with a problem that does not get talked about enough. The battery works fine all day, temperatures fall overnight, and by morning, the cells are too cold to take any charge back in. For people who travel year-round or spend winters somewhere cold, that is not a once-in-a-while situation. It happens on a regular basis, and there is not much you can do about it with a standard lithium battery.
Epoch built a heating element right into the battery housing to cut that problem off. There is a sensor inside watching the cell temperature. When that reading falls below what is needed for safe charging, the heater runs first. Charging only starts after the cells hit the right temperature. The whole thing happens on its own, and users do not need to do anything to trigger it or manage it manually.
Bluetooth comes standard on both RV battery models. The Epoch Li-ion app on iOS and Android gives owners a live look at what the battery is doing. Voltage, current, and state of charge all show up in real time. What a lot of people find useful is the cell-level data. If one cell starts behaving differently from the others, the app flags it. That kind of early warning is useful when the battery is tucked away in a compartment somewhere and not easy to get eyes on directly.
A battery management system sits inside every unit and takes care of overcharge, over-discharge, and short-circuit protection. No external components needed. Epoch rates these lithium batteries for over 5,000 charge cycles with a design life that goes past 15 years.
These RV models are two pieces of a much larger lithium battery catalog Epoch has put together. The golf cart battery line runs through the LiMax Series. Someone picking up a lithium golf cart battery from that series gets a complete kit. 36V, 48V, and 70.4V options are all there, and the box comes with everything the installation actually needs.
On the water side, Epoch has marine batteries covering different use cases. One of them is a 12V 172Ah Group 31 that handles engine cranking and deep cycle from the same unit. There is also a 12V 300Ah Pro Series for boats that need more sustained onboard power. NMEA, ABYC, and NMMA certifications cover both of those models. Looking at the full catalog, a 12V battery and a 48V battery are both available, and so are 24V and 36V options. Capacity starts at 50Ah and goes up to 460Ah, depending on what the application needs.
The Elite Series is where Victron Communications support comes in. Buyers who already have Victron hardware running in their setup can connect these batteries directly into that ecosystem without any workarounds or adapters.
About Epoch Batteries
A group of veterans started Epoch Batteries, and the company still operates under that same ownership today. There are two offices, one in Marietta, Georgia, and one in San Juan, Puerto Rico. All design and engineering work happens in the United States. The product line stretches across lithium batteries for marine, RV, Golf Cart Batteries, and home energy storage. NMEA, ABYC, and NMMA certifications are current, and Epoch holds memberships with GCSAA, RVDA, and the RV Industry Association. Every product ships with an 11-year warranty behind it.
