Indian citizenship will help ease lives hit by problems such as:
- They can't buy land, open bank accounts or vote.
- Getting a ration card, or any other identification, is virtually impossible.
- They can't follow the Urdu-speaking officials at the Pakistan mission as most speak only Thari, the local dialect.
- Craftspeople don't benefit from NGO self-help and microfinance schemes as they can't have bank accounts.
