Uttar Pradesh Govt Plans To Make State Solar Energy Hub, 125 Projects To Be Set Up

In the first phase, four large solar projects would be set up in Bundelkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh with investment of around Rs 35,000 crore.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has planned to make the state a hub of solar energy and has outlined 125 projects for this purpose. 

These projects are set to be implemented with investment from private players. In the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023, the state attracted over Rs 40,000 lakh-worth of proposals. Amongst them, the solar projects had the biggest share. 

In a post on Twitter, the Government of UP said that 125 projects are set to be implemented from investments of over Rs 1 lakh crore.

"Under the guidance of UP CM Mr Yogi Adityanath Ji, the process of implementing investment proposals received from various industrial houses during the Uttar Pradesh Global Investment Summit 2023 has picked up pace. At the summit, the investors showed most interest in the field of solar energy," said the Government of UP in a tweet in Hindi.

In the first phase of the implementation of solar energy-related investment proposals, four large solar projects would be set up in Bundelkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh with investment of around Rs 35,000 crore, according to a report shared by Government of UP on Twitter.

The report says these projects include: 1) Greenco Group's off-stream closed loop pump storage project in Sonbhadra that would produce 3.6 MW electricity 2) 1,000 Matatila Floring Solar Plant by Tucso in Lalitpur 3) Bundelkhand Solar Energy Limited's 1,200 MW solar power park in Jaunpur 3) ACMI Cleantech Solutions Private Limited's two off-stream closed loop pump storage projects in Prayagraj and Mirganj.
