The inaugural cabinet gathering of the recently established Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Chhattisgarh is scheduled to convene today, as confirmed by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The swearing-in ceremony, where Sai assumed the role of chief minister and Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma took the oath as deputy chief ministers, drew a notable audience, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and several other prominent BJP figures.
Following the ceremony, Sai and his deputy chief ministers proceeded to the Mantralaya, where they formally assumed their responsibilities after completing traditional rituals. Subsequently, discussions were held with state chief secretary Amitabh Jain and Director General of Police Ashok Juneja.

Chief Minister Sai, addressing reporters, outlined the agenda for the upcoming cabinet meeting on Thursday. He mentioned plans for an introductory session with department secretaries and a subsequent press briefing. When questioned about the priorities to be addressed, Sai emphasized that the cabinet would deliberate on fulfilling the promises outlined in the party's poll manifesto, including the commitments encapsulated in 'Modi ki guarantees.'
Responding to queries about imminent decisions, Sai emphasized the importance of addressing the promises made during the election campaign. He underlined that discussions within the cabinet would focus on prioritizing tasks aligned with the commitments, particularly those related to the PM Awas Yojana, aiming to sanction 18 lakh houses for beneficiaries. Additionally, he highlighted the plan to fulfill a long-pending commitment on December 25, coinciding with the birth anniversary of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, by disbursing bonuses for paddy procurement to farmers who had sold their produce during the previous BJP government's tenure (2013-2018).
