Akshay Kumar starrer 'OMG 2' is all set to hit the screens tomorrow (August 11). The movie was sent to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for review so that it doesn't face any controversy that Prabhas' film 'Adipurush' had faced. 'OMG 2' was passed with an A certificate with 27 cuts. Reportedly, the makers wanted a UA certificate as the film is about sex education and aims at educating teenagers. But they had to go with the A certificate given by the censor board.

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri who is also a member of CBFC has reacted to it in an interview. He told India.com that he is not part of the reviewing committee. When he was asked about the changes made to Akshay’s character, Vivek told that it is not justified and he doesn't agree with that.

The 'Kashmir Files' director added,  “First of all, even though I am a part of CBFC but I am totally against it.” He also said, “CBFC shouldn’t be pressurised to do anything. Whatever is happening, it’s happening because of social and religious pressures. Everybody has understood that CBFC is a vulnerable body, you put pressure on it, and they will make these changes. I don’t understand why a film should get so many cuts – 27 cuts. Who are you to decide that?”

For the unversed, Akshay’s character which was earlier Lord Shiva, has now been changed to a messenger of the Hindu God.

Vivek also said, ''Even though I am a part of CBFC but if you ask me, I honestly believe there shouldn’t be any CBFC. I am against any kind of boycotts and bans on the movies. I believe in free speech. I, in fact, believe in absolute free speech, to the extent, that I think even hate speech should be allowed. What is the intention of the filmmaker? If the intention is not bad, let it go''.

'OMG 2' is directed by Amit Rai and also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam.
