Doodle artist and illustrator Santanu Hazarika has been dating actor Shruti Haasan for quite a few years now. However, at a time when several celebrities are taking a plunge, it looks like marriage is not on the cards for Santanu and Shruti, at least in the near future.

As per a report in Hindustan Times, Santanu mentioned how he does not believe in the idea of marriage, ‘basically having a name’. He added, As artists, there shouldn’t be any sort of institution or binding that sort of puts you in a box. Marriage is a very conventional construct. And for me, I don’t believe in such a construct because it will always keep evolving. Marriage is something that I’ve never thought about. We are happy where we are, and that’s all that matters.”

Nonetheless, he also talked about how he finds freedom in avoiding societal norms. Adding how he and Shruti decide to let their relationship unfold organically, rather than focusing on social media attention. “We are public figures, we are artists, and we are quite out there, even regarding our relationship, for people to see. I believe that artists and art are not something that are independent. Whatever happens in my personal life inspires my art and my work, and vice versa,” the 32-year-old artist stated.

Lastly, Santanu asserted how he is not affected by how people perceive my personal or professional life. Hence, it has never bothered about navigating the social media trolling and comments. “What my loved ones and people in my surroundings are saying matters the most. And besides that, everything else will just fall into its place,” he said.

He also talked about his art form, and revealed, “I always had an interest in drawing. My first exposure to art was through comic books and cartoons, and I always wanted to replicate what I saw. I was fascinated by the whole idea of fantasy at a very young age. In the coming few weeks, I am going to launch a new range of products of ‘Art X Electronics’.”

As for Shruti, she has been roped in along with Adivi Sesh to star in an upcoming pan-India action drama, the makers recently announced. The title of the feature film, which has been kept under wraps for now, will mark Adivi’s second straight Hindi film outing after his 2022 blockbuster biopic 'Major', which starred him as Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan.
