“Working with Shilpa Shetty was an absolutely incredible experience. She is a genuinely nice person. Despite being such a big star, she never displayed any tantrums or acted superior to anyone. She treated everyone with respect, and our friendship scenes seemed real because she was very real in it. She created a warm and welcoming atmosphere to work in. As a co-actor, she was incredibly generous and even pointed out makeup details or helped with costume adjustments when needed. The experience, both on and off the set, was amazing. On and off- set, Shilpa Shetty is warm, down-to-earth, and a fantastic performer. She’s extremely hardworking, even with her vast experience in the industry. Working with her was truly the best,” she says.
She adds, “The girl cast really formed a strong bond during filming because we were all on the same page. But the credit goes to Shilpa for creating such a warm environment that made it easy for us to connect with the other co-stars. Shilpa helped break the ice for all of us right from the beginning. So much so that we developed a camaraderie from day one that went beyond the set. Even when Sonal, the director, called "cut," we continued to interact like friends. Our friendship grew stronger with time. Even today, when we meet, we still embody our characters because we became so close to each other while working on the film. We shared some wonderful moments. So, yes, it was truly fantastic.”
Director Sonal Joshi was also incredible to work with, she says, adding, “Sonal is a very young director, and this is actually her debut film. However, her experience in the film industry, especially assisting Imtiaz Ali on some iconic films, has truly shaped her into a well-informed and meticulous director. She has an in-depth understanding of the script. In other words, she had a firm grasp on every character’s dialogues, which meant that if anyone forgot their lines, we knew the director would have it covered. Additionally, before each scene she explained everything to us thoroughly. Her briefings were incredibly detailed, and she had a knack for immersing us efficiently into the mood of the scene. My experience working with her was excellent because she played a pivotal role in holding this film together. She moulded us actors for each scene, guiding us to deliver what she envisioned for the characters. Her approach was very impressive.”
Ask her about her expectations from the film, and she says, “‘Sukhee’ will perform exceptionally well at the box office because this film appeals to a wide audience. It’s not limited to any particular segment of society. Whether you’re a man or a woman, a daughter or a son, a father-in-law, mother-in-law, husband, or wife, there’s something in this film that everyone can relate to. I am confident that everyone will enjoy it, and I’m looking forward to a grand success party to celebrate its success.”
