Kiara Advani was last seen in ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, which also featured her co-actor Kartik Aaryan. However, the actress was slammed on social media for recreating her wedding picture with Kartik, and she received negative comments on social media as well. And the comments did take a toll on Kiara, but only until her actor-husband Sidharth made her see the reality of it.

During an interview with Film Companion, Kiara mentioned how she was targeted for being married and doing certain scenes in the film. Talking about how she was “overpowered” by social media, Kiara said, “Because I was just married…. I felt like there was very weird negativity going on about certain scenes ‘Oh isne yeh kyun kia hai, woh kyun kia hai (why she is doing it now that she is married).’ Maybe it was to do with ‘Oh now she is married’… all of that.”

She recalled how she was extremely affected because people were trolling her for being ‘a married actor’.  “There was a bit of negativity that really got to me,” said Kiara. She also revealed that she did not discuss how she was feeling with Sidharth because she knew, the more she will talk about it, the deeper she will go into it.

However, her actor-husband Sidharth took notice of all the negativity about his wife on social media. And guess what? Sidharth didn’t “make a big deal out of it.” Instead, he told Kiara, “He was the one who explained it to me, ‘Look, there will always be these negative trolls, but if you’re going to give so much importance to this and be sitting at home and crying and behaving like s*** has hit the roof, what’s wrong with you?'”

Kiara mentioned how Sidharth explained to her that certain fans might be “not happy” about their marriage, but she cannot be bothered by them as neither does she know them nor do they.

“If he is so mature about it, why am I sitting and feeling all of these things? That time I was like, ‘thank god, I have somebody who has got so much wisdom and maturity and experience in this matter’,” Kiara said.

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra got married this year on February 7 in an intimate wedding at Jaisalmer’s grand Suryagarh Palace. They fell in love while shooting for their film, ‘Shershaah’.

Coming to ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, the romantic drama focuses on the issue of consent. It performed decently at the box office and collected Rs 72.50 crore within two weeks of its release.
