Angad Bedi's Father Bishan Singh Bedi Passes Away: Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt And Others Mourn Demise Of The Cricket Legend

Former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi, father of actor Angad Bedi passed away today, on October 23. He was 77.

Former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi, father of actor Angad Bedi breathed his last today, on October 23. He was 77. Born on September 25, in 1946 in Amritsar, Punjab, he was a renowned left-arm orthodox spinner. His contribution to the Indian cricket during the 1960s and 1970s is immense. 

Bishan Singh was unwell and he underwent numerous medical procedures, including a knee surgery approximately one month ago. 

Several celebs have mourned the demise of the legendary cricketer. 

Shah Rukh Khan took to X platform and offered his condolences. He wrote, “Growing up our lives are moulded by the spirit, the gusto and sheer grace of people who we see and experience around us. Mr. #BishanSinghBedi was one of them. May God bless his soul & thank u Sir for teaching us so much about sports & life. You will be missed immensely. RIP (sic)''.

Suniel Shetty mourning Bishan Singh's death wrote, “Deeply saddened to hear about the loss of the spin legend, Bishan Singh Bedi. A man who was adored not just for his cricketing prowess but also for the honesty and integrity he carried in his heart. He was a true maestro of the game and an inspiration to so many. May his legacy continue to inspire generations. Rest in peace, Bedi Sir (sic).”

Sanjay Dutt offered condolences to the cricket legend. “Cricket has lost a legend today, but the memories and moments created by Bishan Singh Bedi ji will live on forever. My thoughts are with his family and the entire cricketing community as we mourn this profound loss (sic),” he wrote.

Bedi played 67 Tests for India and took 266 wickets, including 14 five-wicket hauls and one 10-wicket haul.
