We can be friends with anyone, be it our parents, siblings, relatives, neighbours, dogs, trees and so on. A child might find a closest friend in their non-living playmates. World Friendship Day on August 6 honours this pure and beautiful bond that we all cherish. Amal Sehrawat on what friendship is to him and also talks about his best friend and better half Neha Sehrawat.
“Friendship is an incredibly special relationship because it is based on our own choices. We find friends whose mental wavelength matches ours, whose likes and dislikes align with ours, and who accept us with all our flaws. True friends stand by each other without any hidden motives, living up to the saying, ‘A friend in need is a friend indeed’. A good friend provides support and guidance in all aspects of life, be it mental, physical, or financial, going out of their way to make our lives more comfortable,” he says.

Amal shares having found such a friend in his spouse, Neha. “Our friendship began during college, and we became the best of friends. Our journey together progressed through our professional lives, and our bond grew stronger as we fell in love, proposed to each other, and eventually got married. We started our family, embracing parenthood as another milestone. With the grace of God, our journey has been smooth and fulfilling,” he adds.
