The entertainment industry is not an easy place to be. While the glitz and glamour may seem alluring, it is a tough place when it comes to dealing with work, love and loss. The recent incident that brought this discussion to the fore is actress Tunisha Sharma, who reportedly ended her life over some personal issues. ‘Ishq Ki Dastaan – Naagmani’ actor Aditya Shukla shares his viewpoint on the entire matter.

“From a common person to the most influential individual, we all have to deal with love and loss, and the entertainment industry is no different. It’s just that we are always under the radar of the world and media and it’s a price we have to pay for the stardom we seek,” he says.

Heartbreaks lead to extreme reactions. Some people even end up taking drastic steps. “It’s a sad thing that people end their lives over one person. If only they could look back and see the other people in their lives like their parents, siblings, and friends who love them and think about them for a moment. A lot of such stupid extreme steps that people think of taking can be avoided. And the most important thing is that when in such situations, people should talk to someone who knows how to deal with them. So don’t be ashamed to get professional help,” he adds.

The uncertainty in the nature of work in showbiz also affects the mental health of those who are a part of the workforce. “We need to be like a bird that relies on its wings and not on the branch that it sits on. I only keep working on enhancing my skills and my mental mindset, so I am ready when the opportunity comes. One should always keep oneself busy in learning new skills,” he says.

Coping with mental health issues varies from person to person. “I suggest treating each other well as we have no idea what one is going through. But if people are facing challenges they should take professional help rather than rely on those who are too fighting their daily battles,” he adds.

Aditiya Shukla shares that Tunisha Sharma’s death has shocked everyone. “It’s sad that a young person like her had to take such a drastic step. My condolences to her family, hope God gives them the strength to cope with the huge loss,” he ends.
