'Sam Bahadur' Box Office Day 7: Vicky Kaushal's Film Inches Closer To Rs 50 Crore Worldwide In First Week

Vicky Kaushal starrer 'Sam Bahadur' that locked horns with Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' will cross the Rs 50 crore mark today worldwide. The biopic is directed by Meghna Gulzar.

'Sam Bahadur' clashed with Ranbir Kapoor's film 'Animal' at the box office on December 1. While the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial is taking the box office by storm, the Meghna Gulzar directorial is still struggling at the box office. On Day 7 of its release, the Vicky Kaushal starrer saw a drop in its collections as it raked in only Rs 3.05 crore net (as per early estimates), states a report in Sacnilk. 

'Sam Bahadur' got a decent opening of Rs 6.25 crore and on Saturday it minted Rs 9 crore. On its first Sunday, the biopic collected Rs 10.3 crore. On its first Monday and Tuesday, it raked in Rs 3.5 crore and on Wednesday, the film earned Rs 3.30 crore. The first-week box office collection of 'Sam Bahadur' stands at Rs 38.85 crore. It had an overall 21.39% Hindi occupancy on Thursday. 

Talking about the worldwide, the film has already made Rs 49 crore and will pass the Rs 50 crore mark today.

Day 1- Rs 6.25 crore

Day 2- Rs 9 crore 

Day 3- Rs 10.3 crore

Day 4- Rs 3.5 crore

Day 6- Rs 3.25 crore 

Day 7- Rs 3.05 crore

Total collection- Rs 38.85 crore

'Sam Bahadur' which is based on the life of Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw opened with positive reviews from critics and audiences. But 'Animal' has affected its box office numbers. Despite polarising reactions, the film is unstoppable at the cinema halls. It has already crossed the Rs 500 crore mark globally and In India, it has amassed a total of Rs 340 in its first week.

'Animal' also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, and Triptii Dimri who play pivotal roles. 

Coming back to Vicky starrer, it also has Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra. Fatima portrayed the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi while Sanya played Vicky's on-screen wife. 

On the work front, Vicky Kaushal will be next seen in 'Dunki' that has Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu among others. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the movie is releasing on December 21.
