The last week saw action in the sporting world with lots of drama and excitement. In cricket, India's first T20I against South Africa was abandoned without as rains played spoilsport in Kingsmead, Durban. Ireland beat Zimbabwe and clinched the series 2-1. England Women won the T20I series 2-1 despite the hosts winning the last T20I by five wickets. (Sports News)

In football, Manchester City lost to Aston Villa in the English Premier League. Arsenal beat Luton Town but lost to Villa 1-0 as Unai Emery's side climbed upto third. In Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankurt thrashed Harry Kane's Bayern Munich 5-1.

Khelo India Para Games kicked-off in Delhi. In Hockey, India Men's junior hockey team thrashed Canada 10-1 and qualified for the quarter-finals of the FIH Men's Junior Hockey World Cup 2023.

The week ahead of us - Monday, December 11 to Sunday, December 17 - promises a wide range of adrenaline-pumping sports events too. So fasten up your seatbelts, here's what's lined up for the week ahead.

Cricket
India look to start their South African safari with the 2nd and 3rd T20I after the first one was washed out. The quarter-finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023 will get underway in Rajkot.

In women's cricket, England and India are set to continue their rivalry albeit in Test match as red-ball action gets underway in Mumbai. 

Elsewhere, Pakistan will take on Australia in the 1st Test as Shan Masood looks to bring in a new era for the Men In Green.

Football
The UEFA Champions League enters its final group game stage as teams will know whether they have advanced to the Round of 16 or not. Manchester United welcome Bayern Munich to Old Trafford as Red Devils require a win and other results going their way if they are to progress further. In ISL, Mumbai City FC get their Petr Kratky era underway with a game against FC Goa. FIFA Club World Cup action gets underway with Manchester City in action in the corresponding week.

BWF World Tour Finals gets under way in Hangzhou, China. Unfortunately for India, there will be no Indian representation at the marquee event.
