WATCH: Neeraj Chopra Clinches Title In Lausanne Diamond League With 87.66m Throw

India's ace javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra won the Lausanne Diamond League title after registering a distance of 87.66m in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Friday.

Returning to the track, the Indian star appeared rusty initially, with his first attempt deemed as invalid. As a result, Germany's Julian Webber took the lead with an 86.20m throw, meaning Neeraj was now not even in the top three athletes.

His second attempt saw Chopra achieve the mark of 83.52m, enabling him to climb the ranks to number three. His third attempt saw him reach further at 85.02m, allowing him to climb to number two, with Webber holding on to his lead thanks to an 86.20m throw.

Chopra's fourth throw was again deemed as invalid, but he managed to keep his number two spot.

Then came the moment in his fifth attempt, when Chopra breached a farther distance with an 87.66m, climbing to the first position. Then, in his final attempt, the Indian achieved a throw of 84.15m.

As Webber slid to the second position, Neeraj won the title gloriously. Jakub Vedlejch of Czech Republic finished in the third position.
