WNBA Wrap: Indiana Fever Beat Dallas Wings; New York Liberty Overcome Atlanta Dream

Kelsey Mitchell scored a team-high 20 points, Caitlin Clark dished out a season-high 13 assists and the Indiana Fever used a dominating second quarter to beat the Dallas Wings 102-83 on Sunday.

It was the first WNBA matchup between Clark and rookie No. 1 pick Paige Bueckers.

Bueckers led the Wings with 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting and chipped in four rebounds and four assists.

Clark’s sophomore shooting slump continued as she shot 4 of 12 from the field and 2 for 7 from 3-point range. She finished with 14 points, 13 assists and five steals.

Clark had five of her assists in a second quarter in which the Fever outscored the Wings 36-15.

Natasha Howard had 18 points on 8-for-9 shooting, while Aliyah Boston finished with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Indiana outscored Dallas 58-38 in the paint.

With the win, the Fever improved to 11-10, while the Wings dropped their third straight game, falling to 6-16.

Fiebich helps rally Liberty past Dream

Leonie Fiebich led all scorers with 21 points, and the New York Liberty overcame a 19-point first-half deficit to beat the Atlanta Dream 79-72.

Breanna Stewart contributed 18 points, 10 rebounds and three steals as the Liberty improved to 14-6.

New York trailed 26-13 at the end of the first quarter, and the deficit grew to 19 in the second quarter. Fiebich had eight points and a pair of 3-pointers in the third quarter when the Liberty rallied.

Allisha Gray had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead a balanced Dream attack. Maya Caldwell and Jordin Canada each scored 12 for Atlanta (12-9), who are 4-6 in their last 10 games.

Mystics rally late over Storm

Brittney Sykes scored 10 of her 19 points in the fourth quarter, and the Washington Mystics used a decisive fourth-quarter run to rally past the Seattle Storm 74-69.

Sykes helped the Mystics win the fourth quarter 27-14, fuelled mostly by a 15-4 run to take the lead with 4:28 remaining in the game.

Sonia Citron added 17 points for Washington (11-10), who won their third straight game. Kiki Iriafen had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Ezi Magbegor had 19 points and seven rebounds to lead the Storm, who fell to 13-9.

Nneka Ogwumike added 16 points for the Storm.
