The Men’s Triple Jump Final is up and running, and India’s two medal hopefuls have made a solid start.

After the opening two rounds, Selva Prabhu Thirumaran is placed fourth with a best jump of 16.17m, while Praveen Chithravel is close behind in fifth with 16.05m.

Selva has looked composed early on and has given himself a strong platform heading into the remaining attempts. Praveen, however, could not improve with his second jump.

The run-up looked slightly mistimed, the take-off lacked its usual rhythm, and the effort measured only 15.64m. Fortunately for the Indian camp, his opening mark of 16.05m is still keeping him well inside the top five and comfortably in contention for the final rounds.

With four attempts still left, the competition is very much alive, and both Indians remain within striking distance of the medals.
