India Vs New Zealand Semi-Final, ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: SWOT Analysis Of Rohit Sharma's Formidable Men In Blue

After a nine-match unbeaten streak at the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, India will face New Zealand in the first semi-final match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai

Team India enter the semi-final clash against New Zealand on the back of an unbeaten run of nine games in the league stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The Rohit Sharma-led side are looking unbeatable at the moment as they gear up for the high-octane clash against the Kiwis on Wednesday, November 15.(Streaming | Scorecard | Preview | Full Coverage)

Despite the Men In Blue having very little trouble over nine games, here is the SWOT analysis for the team ahead of the semis clash:

Strengths

Batting and bowling - India have been rolling over opponents with the bat and ball throughout nine league games of the Cricket World Cup. Batters are scoring for fun whereas the bowlers are on-song too with their immaculate line and length. If India go on to win the ODI World Cup 2023, it will be down to their formidable batting and bowling.

Weakness

One weakness that could bring down Team India is their fielding. No doubt T Dilip has been giving away medals to Indian cricketers post-match but in the game against the Netherlands, Mohammed Siraj dropped a catch of Max O’Dowd off Kuldeep Yadav's bowling. There have been few drops this World Cup from Team India but Rohit's men can ill-afford to drop any in the business end of the tournament.

Opportunities

The Indian team could target the likes of Trent Boult and Lockie Ferguson early on and build pressure. If Men In Blue soak in the pressure, they can go berserk later.

Threats

A major threat to Team India could be Trent Boult. Over the years, Indian players have struggled against left-arm pacers -- Shaheen Afridi, Mitchell Starc and notably Boult. If the Wankhede track offers assistance to the pacers, expect Boult to have a field day on Wednesday.
