It has been a breathless start to this contest, with Scotland taking the fight to India and not letting the hosts build any bit of rhythm. Looks like we will have a good match on hour hands.
What a dazzling bit of hockey by Scotland! A good run into the circle results in the ball finding McEwan in the circle, whose backhander is saved by Bichu Devi, who makes another save to keep the rebound shot out.
However, from the resulting PC, Scotland find the breakthrough goal! Robertson's injection finds Eadie, whose dragflick is guided past the goalkeeper by McEwan. Scotland take the lead.
Best chance of the quarter for India, with Neha making her way into the circle. She passes it to Navneet on her left, who shot is batted away by Buchanan. Much more positive from the home side.
India win a PC after a close effort by Navneet. Manjeet is unable to trap the injection, and Scotland recover possession. Extremely sloppy play from India. Meanwhile, Bichu Devi makes a good save at the other end to deny Jamieson. The hooter brings an end-to-end first quarter to an end.
Pearson gets the second quarter underway, and it's much better from India, with Neha making a darting run towards the Scottish circle. The attack comes to nothing, though.
The very experienced Navneet Kaur scores the equaliser for India!! For the second time, Sushila Chanu fails to trap the PC injection, but India keep the ball. Navneet receives posession and pulls the trigger, finding the bottom corner.
The referee awards Scotland a PC, but India refer the decision. The question is whether the Indian players breached the five metre rule against Pearson. After a number of replays, the TV umpire decides against changing the decision to award a PC, and India lose their referral.
A brilliant save by Bichu Devi to deny Costello's dragflick.
It has been a great response from Scotland since India's equaliser, with the visitors making a number of circle penetrations. India, too, have couple of shots, with Sunelita's effort being followed up by another by Ishika. India have a PC.
A great injection by India leads to a dragflick by Manisha that is blocked by Birch. There's a massive goalmouth scramble, and the ball is somehow sent into the back of the net by it seems like Sunelita. Scotland immediately review.
Replays show that Ishika's rebound bounces off Birch before Sunelita guides it goalwards. The TV umpire confirms the on-field decision to award India a goal, and Scotland lose their referral.
The hooter goes off to signal half time, and it's been a frantic end to the second quarter by India, who are now in the lead for the first time tonight.
India get the second half underway in Hyderabad. The hosts are marginally ahead in the contest, but Scotland have been quite good, especially in the first quarter. The next goal will be extremely important.
Scotland have taken the lead right after the restart! It was a good move by McEwan, and the ball finds Burnet at the far post. The Scottish forward fires it past the goalkeeper, and we are level again!
India, who have been quite poor since the rest, finally make a circle entry. However, Sakshi Rana's eventual shot is wild and flies high over the crossbar. The hosts need to up their game fast.
Three consecutive PCs for India. In the third time of asking, Buchanan clears away the danger after yet another goalmouth scramble. However, the hotter signals the end of the quarter, and we are all square in Hyderabad.
The decisive quarter is now underway. Can India find a goal to secure back-to-back wins? A good circle entry by Navneet early on to win a PC for the hosts.
Scotland are down to 10 players as Steiger is shown a green card. India have improved quite a bit since their drab performance in the previous quarter, and they have 11 minutes and change to grab what will surely be the winner.
Rutuja makes an incisive move into the circle before her cross is deflected off a Scottish player. Annu tries to have a shot, which is somehow cleared away from in front of the line. However, the umpire asks for a referral to see if there's a foot infringement by Scotland.
Another very good chance for India, as Baljeet turns and tries to find the bottom corner. Annu and Salima are both very close to poking it in but can't reach the ball in time.
India get a PC, and the ball is injected to Annu. Her shot reaches Samila Tete, who fires a venomous shot with some power. Buchanan makes a stunning diving save to her right to keep Scotland in the game.
The hooter goes, and it's all over in Hyderabad. The match ends in a 2-2 draw, with India coming back from behind to take the lead at half-time, only for Scotland to draw the match level.
