With kick-off in less than ten minutes, let's look at a few talking points:
Chelsea is handing a full debut to 16-year-old midfielder Reggie Walsh. What a moment for the England U-17 player.
Chido Obi-Martin, who became Man United's youngest Premier League starter last week, is out of the squad as he is not registered for the Europa League squad.
Tottenham Hotspur will play at the Aspmyra Stadion in Bodo, Norway in the second-leg. A picturesque venue situated in between the mountains -- not a bad place to secure your final berth.
The referees blow their whistle, and we are underway in the following four fixtures:
Man United vs Athletic Bilbao (3-0)
Bodo/Glimt vs Tottenham (1-3)
Chelsea vs Djurgarden (4-1)
Fiorentina vs Real betis (1-2)
Both Premier League sides are on the ascendancy in their respective Europa League matches, as Machester United are pressing high in the early moments. Bilbao do have a bit of ball possesion though, which stands at 50-50 at the moment.
Meanwhile, Spurs almost went ahead in the first minute, as Bodo/Glimt suffered a lack of concentration after a loose pass is latched on to by Richarlison, but Gundersen blocks for now.
MUN 0-0 ATH (6')
BOD 0-0 TOT (6')
The Conference League matches have been more low key in their start, with Fiorentina failing to create any attacking threat against Betis, with the visitors dictating play at the moment.
Meanwhile, Djurgarden almost had a chance in the fourth minute, as Priske dispossesed Acheampong and passes to Nguen, but his shot is caught by Jorgensen.
FIO 0-0 BET (10')
CHE 0-0 DIF (10')
Berenguer is the chief creator for Athletic Club in the early moments. The midfielder had a decent chance in the sixth minute, curling one in from the edge of the box, but it was high and wide.
He had another crack at goal from a free-kick conceded by Leny Yoro in the 12th minute, but it's punched away by Onana, and United almost break through on the other side, but Athletic's keeper is alert and clears.
MUN 0-0 ATH (13')
Bodo/Glimt get a golden chance in the eighth minute, as a set-piece opportunity finds Blomberg at the far post, and his half-volley beats Onana but finds the side netting.
Meanwhile, Antony comes closest for Real Betis in 10th minute, with a terrific ball to Fornals, and his cross is cleared away by De Gea just before Isco gets at the end of it to tap it home. Excellent chance for the visitors.
BOD 0-0 TOT (16')
FIO 0-0 BET (16')
Alejandro Garnacho had a great chance to put his team up ahead in the 16th minute. Played through by Bruno Fernandes, the Argentine tried to go around Agirrezabala but the goalkeeper comes out on top, clearing the ball.
However, it's Athletic Bilbao who are on top at the moment, with Berenguer being particularly lively, and had a strong shot outside the box that was just wide.
MUN 0-0 ATH (22')
Both teams have excellent chances to score a goal in the first half, but the biggest one falls to Fiorentina in 21st minute. Vieites completely messes up by coming out of his goal but failing to catch the ball, and Comuzzo heads in towards goal which Natan clears off the line, and the rebound fails to go in either.
Betis break on the other end, and Antony gets a good look at De Gea's goal, but his shot is stopped by the veteran keeper.
Both teams are clearly attacking all-out, and Mandragora has another crack at goal from outside the box, but it's not even close.
FIO 0-0 BET (28')
And the Antony show continues! An incredible free-kick that gives flashbacks of prime Beckham, as Antony curls in the ball which goes in via the post, beating David de Gea. Betis double their lead.
FIO 0-1 BET (30')
There's stll hope!! Maguire loses the ball in front of the box, and Djalo has a shot that is blocked off by Yoro, but it falls to Jauregizar, and the youngster has a curling shot from outside the box, which finds the top right corner. The tie is on!
MUN 0-1 ATH (31')
La Viola are not done and dusted, as Robin Gosens levels it for the home side. Another set-piece goal, and the German full-back gets his head on the ball and finds the far corner to give Fiorentina some hope.
FIO 1-1 BET (34')
Chelsea's pressure bears fruit, finally. After almost scoring through Tyrique George in the half-hour mark, the Blues do get a goal through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, with George getting the assist.
It's a similar chance from what fell to George in the 30th minute, with Tosin Adarabioyo disrupting Djurgarden's attack and breaking forward, and it falls to Dewsbury-Hall, who gets it to his stronger left foot and curls it towards the bottom left corner.
CHE 1-0 DIF (38')
What a glorious chance for Man United! Kobbie Mainoo plays Garnacho through with a terrific through ball down the centre of defence, and the Argentinian finds himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper. He opts to lob it over Agirrezabala, but the ball goes agonizingly wide. A massive, massive opportunity goes begging.
MUN 0-1 ATH (43')
Robin Goses gets his second to put Fiorentina ahead on the night, and level on aggregate. It comes in from ANOTHER set-piece routine, with the German finding himself unmarked down the near post, heading past Vieites from close range. 3-3 on aggregate!
FIO 2-1 BET (42')
Most of the good chances have fallen to the home side, with both Hogh and Berg coming close to giving Bodo/Glimt the lead. In minute 35, Hauge's cross almost reached Hogh's head, but it was just wide of goal. The home side come close again in the 41st minute, this time through skipper Berg, but his shot from far off the line catches Vicario by surprise but only managers to bounce back into the goalkeeper's gloves.
BOD 0-0 TOT (45+1')
It's half-time in all four fixtures, and this is how the scorelines look like at the break:
Man United 0-1 Athletic Bilbao (3-1)
Bodo/Glimt 0-0 Tottenham (1-3)
Chelsea 1-0 Djurgarden (5-1)
Fiorentina 2-1 Real betis (3-3)
The second half is underway in all four of the UEFA Europa League 2024-25 and UEFA Conference League 2024-25 semi-final second leg fixtures.
Shumaira Mhueka IN
Marc Cucurella OUT
Amir Richardson IN
Yacine Adli OUT
Bodo/Glimt are starting strong against Spurs in the second-leg, even if the home crowd have gone quieter in the second half. Hauge is the key player for the home side, and is continuing his runs in the Spurs box, with Bentancur clearing the first time around, and Van de Ven and Udogie doing it the second time. The visitors needs to be careful.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have made tactical changes after the break, but the lethalness from the first leg is still missing. Djurgarden get two shots off in two minutes, with Ngeun's low effort blocked by Tosin before Gulliksen's shot from outside the box goes out after a deflection off the left post.
BOD 0-0 TOT (55')
CHE 1-0 DIF (58')
Athletic Bilbao are winning the midfield battle at the moment, with Djalo and Berenguer causing real problems to Mazraoui and Maguire with their forward runs. The middle of the park is completely devoid of red shirts, and it's the visitors who are creating all kinds of problems at the moments, with United trying to break forward unsuccessfully at the moment.
Amorim, predictably, is turning to his bench to make some changes, as does Athletic Club. Triple changes for both teams.
Benat Prados, Oscar de Marcos, Aingeru Olabarrieta IN
Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta, Andoni Gorosabel, Alvaro Djalo OUT
Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Amad Diallo IN
Noussair Mazraoui, Manuel Ugarte, Alejandro Garnacho OUT
MUN 0-1 ATH (63')
After a terrific chance for Hogh off a cross from Bjorkan, which was cleared off by Udogie, it's Spurs who get the first break through Dominic Solanke. It's a complete fox-in-the-box goal for the striker, as Tel's corner is headed on by Cristian Romero toawrds the far post, and all Solanke has to do it steer it past Haikin from close range.
BOD 0-1 TOT (63')
Spurs go two up in three minutes, and this time it's Pedro Porro who gets the goal. Tel passes the ball to Porro on the right side, and the Portuguese puts in a cross in the box, that somehow goes over Haikin to hit the left post and creeps in the goal. What just happened? No one's sure, really, but Spurs celebrate.
BOD 0-2 TOT (69')
A wonderful curling goal by substitute Mason Mount to draw United level on the night. A good ball from the right flnak by Amad Diallo falls to Luke Shaw, and it falls to Yoro in the box. He flicks it to Mount, and the midfielder turns in and curls it past Agirrezabala, finding the right side of the goal.
MUN 1-1 ATH (72')
Game, set, match for Manchester United, as Casemiro gets the goal that gives the home side the lead. Bruno floats in a free-lkick from the right side, and Casemiro -- falling down under pressure from the defence -- manages to head ot past Agirrezabala, and the joy on his face is evident. United are all but through to the finals.
MUN 2-1 ATH (80')
A statement goal from Hojlund, and what a celebration from Amad Diallo! It was all made by the Ivorian, who got at the end of a ball from Mainoo to put in a low cross from the edge of the right post. It gets a deflection from Yeray to find Hojlund in front of the keeper, and the Dane pokes it in. A selfie to celebrate the goal, and rightly so!
MUN 3-1 ATH (85')
What a night Mason Mount is having. Agirrezabala rushes out to clear a ball ahead of Hojlung, but gets it as far as Mount. The midfielder, brimming with confidence, hits it from 40 yars out, and it rolls into an empty net.
MUN 4-1 ATH (90+1')
The referees blow their whistles, and it's over in three of the four fixtures of the night:
Man United 4-1 Athletic Bilbao (7-1)
Bodo/Glimt 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur (1-5)
Chelsea 1-0 Djurgarden (5-1)
The final fixture of the match is in added time at the moment, with Fiorentina still leading 2-1 on the night and the tie at 3-3 on aggregate score. Extra time is beckoning.
It's full time at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, and both sides are level on aggregate after 90 minutes of football. 30 minutes of extra time is incoming.
FIO 2-1 BET (3-3) (FT)
30 more minutes of football left to differentiate between these two sides.
FIO 2-1 BET (90')
Real Betis are showing all the attacking impetus at the moment, but David de Gea hasn't particularly been troubled at the moment. Meanwihle, La Viola make a double change.
Lucas Beltran, Fabiano Parisi IN
Albert Gudmundsson, Robin Gosens OUT
FIO 2-1 BET (95')
Oh my! Who else, but EZ Abde, the man who started Betis' dominance in the first leg! The goal is entirely created by Antony's intelligence, with the Brazilian having pace to burn down the right flank, then crossing the ball across the face of the goal to find the onrushing Abde, who pokes it in past De Gea.
FIO 2-2 BET (97')
The first half of extra time is done, and Real Betis are ahead courtesy of EZ Abde. Will Fiorentina be able to come back in the next 15 minutes to take it to penlaties?
FIO 2-2 BET (105')
We are back underway, and Fiorentina have 15 minutes to equalise. But wait, Betis almost get another one through Abde, and his shot from distance creeps JUST wide off the left post.
FIO 2-2 BET (105')
The Betis keeper is down for two minutes after a clash with Michael Folorunsho, which sees the Fiorentina player get booked. The physios are on, and Adrian is warming up on the sideline, but Vieites is fine.
FIO 2-2 BET (110')
After three minutes of added time in extra time, it's all over in Italy, and Pellegrini's men have secured a fantastic win over Fiorentina. Abde was the star after coming on from the bench, and almost got another goal, with his shot coming back off the post.
FIO 2-2 BET (3-4) (AET)
