Senegal's campaign kicked-off with a commanding 3-0 win over Botswana, thanks to a brace from Nicolas Jackson and an injury time goal by Cherif Ndiaye.
Senegal followed it up with a frustrating 1-1 draw against DR Congo. Star striker Sadio Mane netted his first goal of the tournament in that fixture.
In their Group D finale, the Teranga Lions blanked Benin 3-0 and kept their 100% win record intact.
The Sudanese side won only once in 3 group stage outings. They were thrashed by tournament favourites Algeria 3-0 on the opening day before beating Equatorial Guinea 1-0 on matchday 2.
In their group concluder, the Falcons of Jediane endured a shocking 2-0 loss to the hands of Burkina Faso.

We are underway for the first round of 16 match of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025-26 at the Tangier Grand Stadium.
The Teranga Lions had exited the tournament at this very stage in the previous edition in 2023.
Having dictated the tempo from the opening whistle, Sudan have found the back of the net after some relentless pressure.
Walieldin Khidir spotted Aamir Abdallah in a pocket of space near the edge of the box.
Then Abdallah controlled the pass nicely before chipping the ball over Edouard Mendy to the far side of the net.
It has been a very slow start from Senegal and the goal that they conceded, absolutely shook them up. Sarr, Sadio Mane and Nicolas Jackson are stunned.
The match saw its first booking as Ismaila Jakobs receives a yellow card after a brutal collision during a long-ball challenge. Abdallah required medical attention for the head clash but he is good to go.
Sudan nearly doubled their advantage when Mohamed Eisa found a bit of space in the box.
He unleashed a shot but Edouard Mendy produced a moment of magic to get his fingertips on the ball. The Falcons of Jediane settles for a corner, but Eisa knows he should have turned the ball inside the net.
Sadio Mane’s relentless pressing eventually paid dividends as he dispossessed a Sudanese defender deep in their own territory.
After winning the ball, he unselfishly squared it to Pape Gueye at the edge of the area, who showed immense composure to pick his spot and curl a clinical finish into the corner.
Seven minutes have been added on to the clock and Senegal are pushing for a second goal right before the first-half whistle.
The Falcons of Jediane conceded for the 7th time in this tournament, the most out of all the teams qualified for the last 16.
Senegal turned the game on its head right before half-time as Nicolas Jackson slipped a neat pass to Pape Gueye right at the edge of the box. Papa Gueye didn't hesitate and unleashed a magnificent shot to the top left corner to make it 2-1.
Eight minutes have passed by in the 2nd half and Sudan's journey is very close to getting over. Unless they come up with something magical, the Falcons of Jediane will be eliminated. 53'
Senegal make a couple of substitutions in the 74th minute. Lamine Camara comes in for Habib Diarra, while Ibrahim Mbaye replaces Ismaila Sarr.
Senegal have a third! Instant impact from young Ibrahim Mbaye as he slams the ball into the top-right corner and stretch the Teranga Lions' lead in the 77th minute. Sudan now on the verge of being eliminated.
Seven minutes have been added as stoppage time to the second half. Sudan need to score at least two goals to force extra time, and that looks highly unlikely in the remaining time. Stranger things have happened in football, however.
And the full-time whistle blows at the Ibn Batouta Stadium in Morocco and Senegal are through to the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025-26. Last time around in 2023, they exited the tournament from this stage, but they were too hot to handle for Sudan tonight.
