We are underway at the Ibrox Stadium, and Braga get the ball rolling. The high-flying Portuguese side will be looking for a strong start against the out-of-form Scots, so stay tuned for live updates from the match.
The opening 10 minutes of the match has seen Rangers hold slightly more of the ball. Braga are happy to allow the hosts to keep passing around in their own half, but the contest is really yet to open up with no shots from either side.
Braga have started to exert their attacking influence on the pitch. Skipper Horta had a shot from some way outside the box which was destined for the bottom corner, but Butland rolled back the years to make a terrific save.
Horta had another crack at goal just a couple of minutes later, but this time, the connection isn't perfect and Butland makes a comfortable stop.
Half an hour of the match has been played in Glasgow, and the deadlock is yet to be broken. Three shots of the game, two of them on target, and all of them from the visiting side. Danny Rohl needs to change something to make his side click.
The first half has suddenly sprung to life in the last 10 minutes. After a shot by Danilo Perreira proved to be easy picking for Hornicek, the Braga goalkeeper made another heroic save a couple of minutes later to deny Gassama's solo effort.
There's a brief penalty shout as well as a Rangers player goes down in the box, but the referee waves a play on.
What a twist before break as Rangers are awarded a penalty in stoppage time after VAR flagged a handball by Navarro. The decision is confirmed, and Tavernier stepped up to take the crucial spot kick. It was powerfully struck towards the right, and Hornicek can't keep it despite getting a hand on it.
Rangers get the second half underway with a one-goal lead after the late penalty strike from Tavernier. Braga have made one change at the break with Amine El Ouazzani coming on to replace Navarro. Stay tuned for live updates from the match.
A pretty poor second half gets a dash of controversy as Zalazar earns a yellow card after appearing to headbutt Raskin. After a bit of delay, the referee is asked by VAR to go to the pitch-side monitor to look at the replays.
The referee takes a pretty long look and upgrades the yellow to red, and Braga are down to 10 men with half-an-hour of football left to play.
Gabri Martinez puts 10-man Braga level!! It was a short throw that was then hopefully floated into the box. Djiga had a moment of brain freeze as he headed it straight into the feet of Martinez, who bundled it past Butland to make it 1-1.
Chermiti adds another shot on target with a powerful header that was goalbound, bringing out a decent save from Hornicek. The tempo of the game has slowed down a bit, and the home side make a change – Miovski in place on Barron – to add some fresh legs on the pitch.
Drama!! A shot by Horta in the box bounced against the shoulder of Miovski, and Braga players loudly appealed for a penalty. VAR reviews the incident, and after some time, the penalty claims are rejected.
Meanwhile, the visitors make a change as goalscorer Martinez is brought off for Carvalho.
After making a decent save off El Ouazzani at his near post, Butland almost shot himself in the foot from the resulting corner in the first of the six additional minutes. The header towards goal was almost spilled by the goalkeeper into his own net, recovering at the last moment. Nail-biting stuff, this.
More late drama!! Diomande sees a second yellow card for a elbow into the face of Victor Gomez. Parity is restored in numerical terms in the dying stages of the game.
