PSV 2-2 Ajax Highlights, Eredivisie: Gloukh's Late Strike Levels Scores In De Topper

Hello and welcome to the start of our live coverage of the Dutch Eredivisie 2025-26 season's first De Topper derby. It's PSV Eindhoven up against AFC Ajax - the biggest fixture in Dutch football. Just as we were getting all ready for kick off, the referee decides to call the players off the pitch due to the insane amount of firecrackers being burst on the pitch. The entire stadium sounds like a war zone, with smoke filling up the home supporters' end. Referee Serdar Gozubuyuk is not pleased and asks the players to go down the tunnels! Match delayed for now.

The grounds staff have cleared the flares from the stadium, and the players are out on the pitch. Expect kick off soon.

After a 10 minute delay, the De Topper derby finally kicks off, with PSV getting today's match rolling.

PSV have been utterly dominant from get go, and their attacking intent pays off spectacularly. Perisic receives the ball down the right flank, and takes on Wijndal with a burst of pace before crossing it into the box. It falls to Ismail Saibari, who hasn't been in the greatest of forms, but the Moroccan heads it past Jaros to give PSV the lead.

PSV have maintained their strong attacking form down the right flank, with Dest proving to be a menace with his pace. The American full back almost found Pepi with a terrific cross, but Itakura did well to clear the danger somehow.

What a calamity! Dest, who has been so good so far, clatters into the back of a Ajax player, and the referee awards a penalty after VAR check.

Taylor makes no mistake from the spot, dispatching the shot past Kovar. Ajax are level, and the match is on! The visitors have around 25% of ball posession, but the only thing that matters - the scoreline - is equal at the moment.

A sad end to the night for Ruben van Bommel. The PSV player seemed to get his ankle caught up in the turf, and immediately went down in pain. After getting some treatment from the physios, he goes off the pitch, and on comes Emir Bajraktarevic.

After seven minutes of added time, both players head down into the tunnel level at one-one. Godsts had a good chance to give Ajax the lead from a shot inside the box, and Saibari had a snap shot that flew right over the bar before the half-time whistle. Two shots on target from each side, capping off an attacking first half in De Topper.

Both players are out on the pitch, and Ajax get the second half underway. It's 1-1, but the first half ended on an attacking note. Which side will be able to get the breakthrough?

PSV have been the better side in the second half by far. After Saibari missed a sitter in the penalty area early on, a brilliant cross from the flanks found Pepi in the box, and the American's header brings out a terrific save from Jaros to keep the scores level.

A rare moment of attack from Ajax, with Wijndal forcing an easy save from the goalkeeper. The rebound falls to Godts, who shots takes a huge deflection and luckily for PSV, goes behind for a corner.

Double changes for both sides as managers look to inject some energy. PSV bring in Guus Til and Mauro Junior, replacing Dest and Schouten. Ajax bring on Josip Sutalo and Kian Fitz-Jim, with Wijndal and Regeer coming off.

Saibari could have, and maybe should have, had a hattrick by now. The Moroccan cut inside with the ball and shot from the edge of the box, going just over the bar. Just a minute later, he has another crack at goal, forcing a save from Jaros.

Finally!! After nine shots on target, PSV finally take the lead. Brilliant play from Gasiorowski and Perisic to win the ball after losing possession. PSV play it to the right flank, and an inch-perfect cross from Mauro finds the young Spaniard in the box, who heads it in from close range, giving no chance to the goalkeeper.

Out of nowhere!! Gloukh did brilliantly to hold off two defenders before passing it to Taylor, and the Dutch midfielder immediately played it back to Gloukh in the box. His first touch was good, and then his shot went in between Kovar's legs to draw the match level again!

What a breathless final 10 minutes of football! Gasiorowski thought that he had won the match for PSV with his header, but Gloukh's goal came out of nowhere to tie the scores. A very good result for Ajax, considering how dominant PSV were in the match tonight. The season's first De Topper derby ends two-all.
