After the respective national anthems, the players take their positions on the pitch in Oslo. Referee Balazs Berke blows his whistle, and Sweden take the kickoff to get tonight’s friendly match underway.
It has been a bright start from Norway. The hosts take a free-kick that is only partially cleared by Sweden, and the ball finds its way to Nusa. The winger makes a run befroe having a shot, but it’s blocked by the defence.
Strand Larsen finds the back of the net to put Norway ahead in the contest!! Bobb finds Ryerson, who lets fly from the edge of the box, and Strand Larsen is in the right place at the right time to head it past Zetterstrom.
Nusa doubles the lead for Norway! Just as Sweden were enjoying a bit of posession, Norway win the ball back and push ahead. Ryerson’s low cross is parried away by Zetterstrom, but the ball is recycled to Berge, who finds Nusa. The RB Leipzig man cuts inside on his right and finds the bottom corner.
Sweden concede a corner, which Larsen floats in towards the middle. The defence fails to clear it properly, and it comes to Nusa again, who pulls the trigger from the edge of the box but it is blocked. Moments later, Bobb does well to cut it back for Strand Larsen, but the striker drags it just wide.
After a few nervy moments for Norway at the back, the hosts come forward again with Bobb on the right. The wide man does exceptionally well to go through the legs of Smith, but his cut-back is cleared by the Swedish defence.
Strand Larsen scores his second goal of the night to increase Norway’s lead! It comes from a corner, which Ryerson floats into the box. Strand Larsen is too powerful for his marker and heads it past the goalkeeper.
Norway continue to dominate the contest as the regulation 45 minutes are up. Let’s see how long the fourth official adds to the half, considering there haven’t been a lot of stoppages. Just one minute.
The referee blows his whistle to bring the first half to an end. It has been a half utterly and totally dominated by Norway, who are three goals up, courtesy of a brace from Strand Larsen. Rude awakening for Graham Potter and his Swedish side.
The players are out on the pitch for the second half. The referee blows his whistle, and it’s the hosts – up by three goals – who get the ball rolling. Eight changes made by Graham Potter for Sweden. No changes for Norway at the moment as far as I can see.
A couple of corners for Norway. Ryerson, in his second attempt, floats in a ball towards the far corner. The goalkeeper completely misses the flight of the ball, but so does Strand Larsen, whose header flies over the bar.
Moments after Nusa brought out a save from the goalkeeper, Moller Wolfe scores to increase Norway’s lead even more. It’s patient football from the Lions, who regain posession before playing it to the left flank. The ball is worked to the right, and Ryerson’s ball into the box is poked in by the sliding Moller Wolfe.
VAR chalks off Moller Wolfe’’s goal for the tightest of offside calls. Both sides make changes at the break in play. Norway make what seems like 10 changes, while Sweden bring on Lindelof and Isak.
What a superb counter attack from Norway!! Nyland sees and opportunity and throws the ball to Schjelderup, who makes a darting run down the right, going past a defender before trying to find the far corner. His shot creeps agonisinly wide.
A good through ball finds Aasgaard, who threatens to break away. However, Ekdal holds on to him and does not let go, earning himself the first yellow card of the match.
Sweden’s perseverence finally pays off as Isak pulls one back. It all came from a Norwegian move that is defended really well, and Lindelof plays a terrific long ball to find Isak. The Liverpool man, all alone up front, takes the ball on his right and finds the roof of the net with a thunder strike.
Is there a comeback on the cards in Oslo?! Nanasi finds the back of the net to cut Norway’s lead to just one with 10 minutes plus stoppage time left! It comes from a long ball near the half-way line that is headed past the goalkeeper by Nanasi.
Nanasi is inches offside when the ball is played by Lindelof, and VAR chalks the goal off. Norway’s two-goal lead is intact.
After Nanasi’s overturned goal, Norway have increased the pressure on the Swedish penalty area. Meanwhile, the fourth official holds up his board to indicate a minimum of two minutes to be added on at the end of regulation time.
Referee Balazs Berke has seen enough, and he blows the whistle to bring the match to an end. It has been a decent performance from Norway, who come away with a win, but Isak’s goal will allow the visitors to return with something positive ahead of their World Cup campaign.
