Hello, we are back with another live blog, this time it’s Liverpool vs Brighton. Stay tuned for live updates.
The Liverpool vs Brighton, Premier League 2025-26 match will be available for telecast on the Star Sports Network. For live streaming, one can watch on the JioHotstar app and website.
And we’re off at Anfield, barely time to settle in and BOOM, the net’s already rippling.
Liverpool waste absolutely no time. A sharp move slices Brighton open and there’s Hugo Ekitiké, right in the middle of the chaos, keeping his cool and smashing it home with his right foot from the centre of the box. One minute gone, Anfield’s bouncing, and Liverpool are already in front.
Liverpool 1, Brighton 0, blink and you miss it.
Liverpool keep the pressure cranked up. Joe Gomez steps in, spots the run and slides it into the box, Ekitiké throws his right boot at it from close range, but this one climbs into the Anfield night. Close, very close… and a reminder that Brighton are living dangerously every time Liverpool surge forward.
Liverpool are tearing Brighton apart on the counter! Ekitiké bursts down the left, threads it to Szoboszlai, and the ball swings back to the Frenchman. He doesn’t hesitate, curls a shot toward the far post, oh, so close! Just inches wide, but the warning is loud and clear: Brighton can’t relax for a second.
And that’s the whistle on a fiery first half at Anfield! Liverpool take a slender lead, 1-0, but Brighton have been rattled and Liverpool’s counter-attacks look razor-sharp. Plenty more drama to come in the second half, stay tuned.
Liverpool strike again! Salah takes aim and forces Verbruggen into a punch, setting up a corner from the right. The delivery is perfect, finding an unmarked Ekitiké at the far post. He doesn’t waste a second, powers a header through a tiny gap and Anfield erupts.
The Argentine goes up for an aerial duel with Kostoulas and comes crashing down awkwardly, landing on his head. He stays down, completely still, as Brighton try to push on, but the referee immediately senses the danger and stops play.
The mood shifts in an instant. Medical staff sprint onto the pitch and all eyes are on Mac Allister, with concussion checks clearly the priority here. Fingers crossed this is nothing serious.
One last burst from the Reds, and it nearly seals the night. Salah sparks the counter from deep, surging forward into a three-on-one with Isak and Van Dijk charging alongside him. Anfield rises, sensing the killer blow.
But the final pass just won’t behave. Salah tries to slide it across to Van Dijk, puts a bit too much on it, and Verbruggen races out to smother the danger. That’s two late chances gone begging for the Egyptian in added time.
That's a wrap from Anfield! We’ll be back with more live football action soon. Until then, bye bye and keep the chants going.
