Leagues Cup 2025 Guide: Preview, Teams, Schedule, Live Streaming, More

The Leagues Cup 2025 is set to be played between 29 July and 31 August, with 36 clubs from the Major League Soccer (MLS) and Mexican Liga MX taking part in the revamped tournament. Defending champions Columbus Crew will kick off the tournament in the opening game at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio.

18 teams from MLS and 18 teams from Liga MX are paired up in what is gearing up to be a high-profile clash between two of North America’s biggest leagues. Nine teams from each MLS 2024 conference will participate in the tournament, with expansion club San Diego replacing the Vancouver Whitecaps.

The 36 clubs will play for the Leagues Cup trophy, with separate bowls available for MLS and Liga MX. The three top-placing teams will also secure qualification for the CONCACAF Champions Cup 2026, with potential entry available for the FIFA Club World Cup or Intercontinental Cup competitions.

The Leagues Cup 2025 matches will be live-streamed via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. More than half of the 62 matches will be available to Apple TV+ subscribers without a Season Pass.

There will be no television broadcast of the Leagues Cup 2025.
