The pre-match formalities, and referee Tejas Viswarao blows his whistle, and the first half is underway in Bambolim. Which team will come out on top? Stay tuned.
The opening eight minutes of the match has flown by. The football on display isn't the prettiest, with neither side looking to concede early. We are yet to see anything resembling a clear-cut chance, with the players struggling to piece together forward passes under the rain.
Interestingly, both teams are now shifting their focus on their right flanks. It's working better for Jamshedpur, with Messi Bouli combining well with his attack partners to put the Highlanders defence under pressure.
The maestro from Spain at it again! It was a quickly taken throw in from NEUFC, finding Jairo in the box. The latter has a first-time left-footed effort that crashes against the crossbar and comes back into play, where his compatriot Chema Nunez pokes it into the back of the net.
The rain has intensified quite a bit, and the match, too, has gotten more physical. With Jamshedpur not being able to make any incision into the NEUFC final third, Prannoy has an effort from distance that flows way over the bar.
Death, taxes, and Ajaraie scoring – the few constants in life. A brilliant lobbed pass from Chema found the Moroccan in the box, and the latter's first-time half-volley takes Albino Gomes by surprise. NEUFC's lead doubles.
Jamshedpur FC striker Messi Bouli misses a very good chance to pull one back for his side. His reaction says it all, he knows he had a golden opportunity to find the back of the net. It was just him and the goalkeeper but the Cameroonian blasted the ball over the crossbar.
Jamshedpur FC have pulled one back at last and it's their captain Pranoy, who heads Rei Tachikawa's darting corner into the box. The Red Miners have been knocking the door for quite a while now, but they have finally got their reward.
And the 1st half comes to an end at the GMC Bambolim Stadium. The NorthEast United will be satisfied with their work in the first 45 minutes, but job not done yet. Jamshedpur's equalizer right before half-time has sparked their hopes and they will be looking to turn things around in the second half. Stay tuned.
We are back underway at the GMC Bambolim Stadium for the second-half of this tie between Jamshedpur FC and NorthEast United FC. The Red Miners had pulled one back before half-time, thanks to their captain Pranoy, but can they do enough to pose a threat against the Highlanders and register their first victory of the tournament?
Alaaedine Ajaraie had a go at the goal from a free-kick just outside the box. He shot the ball directly towards the Jamshedpur post but not enough to threaten goalkeeper Albino Gomes.
Jamshedpur FC are doing well to move the ball around, but they are making way too many wayward passes. Rain has also intensified at the Bambolim, however, the intensity of the game has slowed down as both teams keep trying to find the back of the net.
Jamshedpur FC are finding good combinations to move forward into the final third but the end product hasn't been good enough. They have controlled the midfield nicely over the last 10 minutes. Still need to do more to get the equalizer.
Ajaraie was almost through towards the goal before getting blocked by 3 defenders. The Moroccan still did well to get the ball in control and attempted a shot from well outside the box. It was on target but Albino dived in to deny the forward once again.
Another near miss for NorthEast United FC and it's captain Miguel Tome this time. The Highlanders climbed up the pitch with real intent and Tome almost scored his team's 3rd with a header, which ultimately flew over. Time slowly running out for Jamshedpur FC.
Late drama in the match as Messi Bouli levels the score at the Bambolim Stadium against NorthEast United. A fluid movement saw the ball floated into the box with Bouli just heading it home. The Red Miners are surely taking a point from this match.
Jamshedpur FC and the NorthEast United FC will share the spoils at the GMC Bambolim Stadium as the match ends 2-2. Messi Bouli bagged a late goal in the 88th minute to save the day for his team and return with a point in their bag. While the Red Miners look happy with their effort, the Highlanders are absolutely heartbroken.
