After the national anthems, the players take their position on the pitch. Germany, in their away green kit, take the kick off and get tonight’s friendly match underway.
It has been a brilliant start by Germany, who are pressing ahead in numbers, pushing Finland deep into their own half. Looks like it’s going to be a long night for the visitors the way the match has started.
A brilliant save from Hradecky to deny Undav!! The Stuttgart forward was found by a low cross from Brown, and he takes a decent first-time shot that is destined for the back of the goal. It takes a slight touch off the defender before Hradecky makes a stunning save.
The match is almost entirely being played in the vicinity of Finland’s penalty area. Brown finds himself in a good position in the box, but his cross is blocked. The resulting corner is put out to touch by Kimmich.
Another regulation save from Hradecky, this time denying Wirtz. The Liverpool man got at the end of the loose ball and pulled the trigger, but the shot is straight at the goalkeeper, who scoops it up easily.
Another golden opportunity for Undav, but the German forward can not capitalise on it. Musisala played a perfect through pass which finds the run of Undav, but Hradecky comes out and makes himself big to deny the striker.
Third time’s the charm for Undav, who finally finds the back of the net to put Germany ahead!! It comes from a corner won by Karl, which Kimmich takes quickly. The ball towards the far corner is met by Undav, who heads it past Hradecky.
What a chance for Germany to double their lead!! It’s a swift move from the Nationalelf in the Finnish box, with Musiala laying it off for Karl on the right, who plays a low cross first time that finds Brown in the middle. The full-back tries to find the bottom corner but drags his shot wide.
After two minutes of stoppage time, the referee blows his whistle to bring the first half to an end. It has been an utterly dominating performance from Germany, who have had six shots on target, and should have had more than one goal. For now, Undav’s goal is the difference.
The players emerge out of the tunnels and stroll onto the pitch for the start of the second half. The referee blows his whistle, and Finland get the ball rolling.
Absolute calamity at the back for Finland as Wirtz doubles the lead for Germany!! It’s extremely poor from the Finnish defenders, with Markhiev’s backpass being intercepted by Undav, who tees up Wirtz, and the Liverpool man makes no mistake from close range.
Germany come forward again in numbers. Undav finds Karl on the right, and the Bayern youngster goes past a defender before pulling the trigger from a tough angle. Seems like he hit the post.
Undav with his second goal of the night, and Germany are well and truly running away with the match. Credit to Karl, who makes an electric run after being found by Musiala. Karl plays a superb through pass to find the run of Undav, who outmuscled his marker before finding the back of the net.
Worry for Nagelsmann as Undav goes down with some discomfort, and he is brought off for Beier. Finland make a triple change as well, with Antman, Hakans, and Pohjanpalo coming on.
It’s all going wrong for Finalnd as Musiala scores to put Germany four goals up just past the hour mark. Again, it is patient football from the Nationalelf, with Pavlovic finding Musiala just outside the box. Musiala lets fly with venom, and it flies past a rooted Hradecky.
With the match result all but a foregone conclusion, both sides make some changes. Germany bring on Woltemade and Sane, and off go Karl and Wirtz. Finland replace Alho and Walta with Miettinen and Tenho.
A brilliant chance for Musiala to get a fifth goal for Germany. The ball is played to Kimmich, who floats in a good delivery towards the near post. Musiala receives the ball and turns, but his eventual shot is wayward and hits the side netting.
With the match totally under their control, Nagelsmann opts to bring home favourite Nadiem Amiri for a late camero, replacing Nmecha.
Germany almost had a fifth in the final minute of stoppage time. Sane’s shot is blocked and falls to Beier, who shoots twice and sees his shot cleared off the line both times. The referee finally blows the full time whistle to bring the match to an end.
