Feyenoord and Celtic have faced each other three times in UEFA competitions. Feyenoord have won twice, while Celtic have won once.
The last time they met was in the 2023-24 season in the Champions League. The Matchday 1 fixture in Rotterdam was won 2-0 by Feyenoord, with Celtic seeing two red cards. The Scottish side won the return fixture in Matchday 6 by a 2-1 scoreline.

The referee blows his whistle, and Celtic get us underway at De Kuip! Can Feyenoord turn around their continental fortunes tonight against their strong Scottish opponents? Stay tuned!
Ueda puts Feyenoord ahead!! It was an exceptional move from the Dutch side, with a terrific long ball from his own half by Valente finding the run of Steijn. The skipper cut it back for the unmarked Ueda to poke it past Schmeichel.
Celtic score from the first shot on target, and it's Yang who gets his name on the scoresheet. It was a brilliant ball into the box by Hayate, and all the Korean had to do was head it past a helpless Wellenreuther from close range.
Celtic take the lead right before half time, and it's Maeda with the goal! A poor pass from Wellenreuther is intercepted by Maeda, and the Japanese forward let out a powerful shot from outside the box and found the back of the net.
The second half is underway, with no half-time changes as far as I can see. The visitors hold a slender lead after Yang and Maeda completed the fightback. Can Feyenoord respond? Stay tuned.
Celtic almost doubled their lead right before the hour mark through Engels. The Belgian fools the Feyenoord wall by going under it with a low and hard shot, but Wellenreuther is alert and keeps the danger out. The visitors are starting to gain a strong foothold in this match.
Schmeichel keeps Celtic's lead intact after pulling on an amazing reaction save to deny Steijn's close-range effort. The home side are slowly beginning to threaten again. Celtic respond by making a double change, with Touenkti and Murray coming on to replace Yang and Tierney.
Celtic are really lucky to still have 11 players on the pitch. Engels put in a really nasty challenge on Niewkoop to stop a Feyenoord attack, and the referee brandished a yellow card. However, VAR had a review of the incident for 'dangerous play'. Thankfully, the yellow card remains as is.
Nygren gets his name on the scoresheet, and that should seal the match for Celtic. Maeda was the one who found the Swede with an accurate pass, and the latter fires a rocket shot past Wellenreuther to double Celtic's lead with just eight mintues of normal time remaining.
