Ferencvaros get us started but immediately lose possession, allowing Fenerbahçe to push forward early. The hosts try to work their way into the attacking third, but the move lacks depth and breaks down quickly.
A lively start as both sides push forward, but the hosts look more dangerous with their deeper runs. The visitors stay compact, closing passing lanes and trying to limit any early threat.
It’s a fierce, hard-fought battle so far, with the hosts winning most duels and recovering the ball quickly to build promising attacks. The visitors stay organised, keeping their defensive shape intact.
Ferencvaros show good intent going forward but lack accuracy in the final pass. Fenerbahçe try to break quickly, only to be stopped by a foul near midfield. Little threat at either end so far.
Huge chance for Ferencvaros. A rebound falls to Bamidele Yusuf, but his close-range effort clips the post and goes wide. Fenerbahçe breathe a major sigh of relief.
A tight first half ends goalless. Fenerbahce controlled stretches of play but couldn’t break through, while Ferencvaros came closest when Yusuf hit the post. Everything still open heading into the second half.
Fenerbahçe restart and try to build from the back, staying patient but unable to push past midfield. Ferencváros press aggressively, keeping the hosts pinned in their own half early on.
A flurry of changes on both sides. The hosts make a triple switch, bringing on Munir Mercan, Jhon Duran and Nene Dorgeles. The visitors respond with two subs of their own as Callum O’Dowda and Alex Toth enter the match. Fresh legs all around as the tempo rises.
From a left-side corner, Barnabas Varga rises unmarked at the near post and powers in a header. A defensive lapse from Fenerbahce, and the visitors take the lead.
A cross from the left finds Nene Dorgeles at the far post, who brings it down beautifully before laying it off to Anderson Talisca. He meets it with a crisp half-volley and fires into the net for the equaliser.
Jhon Durán comes in hard on Naby Keïta and the foul is given. Fenerbahçe push forward immediately, advancing their lines, while Ferencváros retreat in a hurry and leave pockets of space.
Jhon Duran is sent off after losing his cool and clashing with a Ferencváros defender, appearing to lean in with a headbutt. The referee had a clear view and immediately showed the red. Fenerbahce finish with ten men.
An intense and turbulent match ends level in Istanbul. Varga put the visitors ahead before Talisca hit back for Fenerbahce, but late tension and several contentious moments kept the referee busy. A hard-fought draw with drama until the final whistle.
