The Premier League title race is heating up each and every week. Yesterday, Arsenal regained their 5-point lead after Manchester City had cut it down to two, thanks to their 2-1 victory against Newcastle United.
The Cityzens have a game in hand and they face 15th placed Leeds United in 5 days' time at Elland Road. The league leaders will be up against London rivals Chelsea on Sunday, March 1 at the Emirates.
Manchester United unbeaten in their last nine league games, winning five and drawing four. This is their longest run without defeat since early 2021. The Red Devils have had more shots than any other side in the top flight this season (417), with this their highest shots-per-game average (16) since 2011-12 (17).

Manchester United are fourth-highest in the league in terms of goals scored (47), while Everton rank as high as third in defensive blocks (115) and have conceded 30 goals – only the top three have conceded fewer. It's going to be an attack versus defence masterclass.
Starting XI: Jordan Pickford; James Garner, Michael Keane, James Tarkowski (c), Jarrad Branthwaite; Timo Iroegbunam, Idrissa Gueye; Harrison Armstrong, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Iliman Ndiaye; Thierno Barry.
Bench: Tom King (gk), Nathan Patterson, Vitaliy Mykolenko, Seamus Coleman, Dwight McNeil, Tyler Dibling,Merlin Rohl, Beto, Tyrique George.
Starting XI: Senne Lammens; Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Luke Shaw; Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo; Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes (c), Matheus Cunha; Bryan Mbeumo.
Bench: Altay Bayindir (gk), Ayden Heaven, Tyrell Malacia, Noussair Mazraoui, Manuel Ugarte, Jack Fletcher, Jack Moorhouse, Joshua Zirkzee, Benjamin Sesko.
David Moyes: "We had a few choices. We've got near enough a fully fit squad with the exception of Jack Grealish and, unfortunately, Charly Alcaraz picked up an injury in training yesterday which has ruled him out. We decided we want to freshen it up a little bit."
Michael Carrick: "Yeah, unfortunately he (Lisandro Martinez) just picked up something during the week. It doesn't seem too bad at all, but we're just kind of working through that at the moment, so he's not available tonight. He's obviously done well Licha, for us, and it's disappointing. But Leny came in and did particularly well at West Ham so Leny comes in and we'll try and move forward."
The referee blows his whistle, and Manchester United get the ball rolling. The Red Devils almost get caught straight away, with Barry closing down Lammens quickly. The goalkeeper's kick hits Barry, but, luckily for United, goes behind for a goal kick.
Real pressure from Man United on the Everton box. They cut through Everton with ease, with Fernandes' long ball finding Mbeumo on the far side. The Cameroonian helped it back towards the middle where Iroegbunam failed to clear it. Cunha had a shot that was saved by Pickford before Amad's follow up was blocked by the defence.
The opening 10 minutes have been dominated by Man United, with Pickford making two decent stops from Cunha and and Dalot. Mbeumo has been finding acres of space in the box, something which Moyes will have to rectify soon.
Man United are enjoying more and more of the ball – more than two-thirds of it – with Everton pegged back near their own penalty area. Mainoo and Fernandes play a lovely one-two before the latter crosses it towards the far post, but the defence's header just takes it away from the danger area.
With half-an-hour of football played at Hill Dickinson Stadium, the home side look increasingly bereft of ideas during the rare moments where they do have the ball. For now, Lammens is yet to be called into any bit of action at all, with United doing most of the forward forays.
A late tackle from Amad on Gueye earns Everton a free-kick some 25 yards away from goal. Garner stands menacingly on top of the ball before striking a clean shot. It was on target, but Lammens had his eye on the shot all the way through and takes a clean catch. First shot on target for the hosts.
The fourth official has indicated a minimum of three minutes to be added on, with the announcement being greeted by an audible collective groan by the Everton supporters in the stadium.
Both sets of teams are out of the tunnel, with no changes at the break. The referee blows his whistle, and Everton get us back underway. Will we see a more open half of football than what we saw in the first 45 minutes?
Quite so, as Ndiaye does so well to play the ball into the box from the right. Dewsbury-Hall tees up Armstrong, whose shot towards the bottom right corner is saved by Lammens.
Real sloppy from Dewsbury-Hall, losing the ball to Mainoo. The youngster does very well to float in a ball towards the far corner. It falls to Mbeumo, who takes a shot with his left that flies over the crossbar. The angle was against him, but that was surely a half-chance for United.
As we approach the hour mark, Carrick turns to his bench and brings on Sesko – who has four goals in his last five matches – in place of Amad. He slots in as the lone striker with Mbeumo shifting to the right where Amad was playing.
A big sense of relief for the Everton fans in the stadium after Cunha – who has acres of space to run into after being played through by Sesko – loses his footing and slips. Hands on head moment for the Brazilian.
Super-sub Sesko puts United ahead against the run of play!! A wonderful first ball from Cunha from just ahead of his own penalty area finds Mbeumo, who is set on a chase against Keane. He instead checks his run and cuts it across for Sesko, who fires it into the bottom corner past Pickford.
Just five minutes remaining in regulation time for Everton to get something out of this contest. The Toffees deserve something for their spirited performance tonight, with Keane bringing out a world-class save from Lammens with a world-class piledriver of a shot. For now, though, United's slender lead is intact.
Just as Man United are about to take their first free-kick of the night, the fourth official announces a minimum of five minutes to be added on at the end of regulation time. Will see see some late drama at Hill Dickinson Stadium?
