Greetings and welcome, everyone. Sit back and relax as we bring to you the build-up and live updates from the weekend Premier League games, starting with the West Ham vs Sunderland clash at London Stadium.
This is how the two teams line up:
Play is underway at London Stadium. West Ham kicking from left to right and Sunderland the other way in the first half. The Black Cats make an early foray into Hammers' box, and it takes a strong save from Alphonse Areola to deny Noah Sadiki's left-footed drive.
Crysencio Summerville hands West Ham the lead! The Dutch winger responds beautifully to an inch-perfect cross from Jarrod Bowen, leaping over the Sunderland defenders and powerfully heading it past the 'keeper in the 13th minute. As good a goal as The Hammers could have hoped for, early in the first half.
West Ham two to the good in the 29th minute! Jarrod Bowen makes no mistake from the spot after Ollie Scarles earns his side a penalty, with Trai Hume being the guilty party for Sunderland. Bowen slots it into the bottom right corner and Sunderland are in bucketloads of pressure now.
The party continues for West Ham, and how! Mateus Fernandes sends the home crowd into raptures with a spectacular finish from more than 25 yards away, and Sunderland are three goals down with the first half not even over yet.
After three minutes of added time, the referee blows the first half whistle and West Ham head into the interval with a resounding three-goal advantage. Sunderland would not have expected such a hostile welcome from the hosts, and have serious work to do in the second half.
The teams are back from the lemon break as the second half kicks off. Sunderland now attacking from left to right and West Ham in the opposite direction.
This match, which appears to be headed West Ham's way barring a miracle from Sunderland, will be followed by three concurrent ones in the Premier League: Fulham host Brighton, Tottenham visit Burnley and Manchester City welcome Wolves. These three games will be played at 8:30pm IST, while the last clash of the evening is between Bournemouth and the fourth-placed Liverpool at 11pm IST.
Sunderland finally respond, in the second half. Nordi Mukiele crosses it in for Brian Brobbey, whose header evades Alphonse Areola in the 66th minute. West Ham still lead by two goals, but no longer possess the air of invincibility they did in the first half.
The referee blows the final whistle after four minutes of added time, and it's West Ham who hold firm for a 3-1 victory at home. It is their second win on the bounce in the English top-flight, amid a disappointing season. The Black Cats, on the other hand, had arguably their worst outing of the season and would want to forget this quickly.
Play gets underway in the three simultaneous Premier League fixtures: Manchester City vs Wolves, Fulham vs Brighton and Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester City make a bright start at home against Wolves. Leaving star striker Erling Haaland on the bench, the Cityzens start with Omar Marmoush instead. The Egyptian forward responds in style, tapping a cross in to net his first league goal of the season and put his team ahead in the sixth minute.
At Craven Cottage, Brighton take the lead against hosts Fulham in the 28th minute. Yasin Ayari comes up with a fine run to dodge two defenders before slotting the ball past Bernd Leno.
At Turf Moor, Micky van de Ven opens scoring for Tottenham in the 38th minute, but Axel Tuanzebe comes up with a rejoinder in the 45th minute to draw Burnley level. It is Tuanzebe's first goal of the season to boot.
Manchester City find a second goal via Antoine Semenyo in stoppage time of the first half to stay firmly in control against the Wolves. Brighton continue to lead at Fulham, while it's all level between Burnley and Tottenham.
Samuel Chukwueze brings Fulham back to parity against Brighton! The Nigerian winger scores in the 73rd minute, latching on to Joachim Andersen's long ball that foxes the Seagulls' defence. Danny Welbeck seemingly responds in the very next minute, but the goal is ruled out for offside.
Burnley have risen from 0-1 down to take the lead in the 76th minute against Tottenham. Lyle Foster comes up with a lovely one-two with Jaidon Anthony before firing a shot that is saved, but he is not to be denied as the rebound goes in. Spurs' season miseries compounding.
Harry Wilson sneaks in a late winner for Fulham! It's a setpiece, a sizzling free-kick which does the trick for the hosts as Bart Verbruggen is unable to keep the long-range shot out. Brighton are beaten 1-2, as the Cottagers leap to seventh place with three full points.
The Cityzens earn their first top-flight win of 2026 as they ease past Wolves by a 2-0 margin at the Etihad Stadium. They stand second behind leaders Arsenal with 46 points, though the Gunners have a game in hand.
Cristian Romero's 90th-minute goal means Burnley's come-from-behind efforts are neutralised just in time, and Tottenham split points with the hosts at Turf Moor. Spurs' winless run continues, but it could have been a lot worse for them, had it not been for Romero's late leveller.
