What a start for Egypt as Omar Marmoush fires a shot from the edge of the box past Fofana to put the Pharaos ahead in just four minutes. Emam Ashour played a lovely through ball, and Marmoush beat Odion Kossounou to fire a low shot past Fofana, giving the goalkeeper no chance.

Evan Ndica from Ivory gives a long ball to Yan Diamande, but it doesn't turn into anything fruitful as the Egyptian defenders were more than ready and evaded any threat whatsover quite successfully.

Another half-chance goes begging as Ivorian Evan Guessan gets a free kick in the box but isn't able to convert it into a goal and the ball goes just narrowly wide of the right post.

Goaaalll...! Mohamed Salah fires a superb corner kick to find the Rami Rabia, who then executes a fine header almost from the penalty spot into the ride side of the goal to give a 2-0 to Egypt.

Own Goal! That's a really breakthrough for Ivory Coast to bring back in the game. Ahmed Fatouh by mistake heads a free kick into his own goal. Ivory's deficit reduces to half with this goal.

There the half-time whistle by the referee and the stoppage time gets over. Both sets of players are heading to their locker rooms. Egypt must be the happier camp currently though the defending champions aren't also much behind.

The players are on the field all set for the final half to begin. Egypt are leading the all-important match by 2-1 and Ivory will be desperate to equalize as soon as possible.

Goaaalll...Emam Ashour passes the ball to Mohamed Salah and strikes it brilliantly into the bottom left corner from inside the box to take Egypt's lead to 3-1.

Mohamed Salah tries to make a move by striking it from outside the box in the hope that his teammate intercepts it but the opposition defence is quick to act on it and thwarts the attack. Egypt gets a corner though.

A corner is rebounded to the Guela Doue and slots in past the goalkeeper into the goal to strike the 2nd goal for the Elephants. The score noe say 3-2 and the Elephants are just a goal away from equalizing things in the quarter final.

There's the final whistle and with it we comes to the end of the stoppage and to the end of the match as well. Egypt edge past Ivory Coast by 3-2 to reach the semi-finals, where they will be up against Senegal.
