Durand Cup 2025 Guide: Preview, Groups, Schedule, Live Streaming – All You Need To Know

The Durand Cup 2025 is set to kick off on 23 July, marking the 134th edition of the oldest football tournament in India. It will feature 24 teams, divided into groups of four, competing across five cities. Among the teams are defending champions NorthEast United FC, who defeated Mohun Bagan Super Giant in last year’s final.

This year’s Durand Cup will have 43 fixtures, taking place in five cities across five states – West Bengal, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Assam, and Manipur. The six group winners will go through to the knockout stages, starting on 16 August, along with the two best second-placed teams.

Other than NorthEast United and Mohun Bagan, there are four other teams from the Indian Super League (ISL) – Mohammedan SC, East Bengal, Jamshedpur FC, and Punjab FC. Three I-League teams – Diamond Harbour FC, Shillong Lajong, and Namdhari FC – are taking part.

Two foreign teams have also been invited – the Malaysian Armed Forces (replacing the Indonesian Army), and the Tribhuvan Army from Nepal.
