Bayer Leverkusen 1-2 Borussia Dortmund Highlights, Bundesliga: BVB Edge Past Hosts, Jump To Third In Standings

Dortmund sneak ahead towards the fag end of the first half! They make the most of a setpiece as Aaron Anselmino heads in Daniel Svensson's cross to hand the visitors a 1-0 lead in the 41st minute.

The referee blows the half-time whistle after two minutes of added time, and despite Leverkusen being on top for large stretches of the match, it is Dortmund who go into the break with a one-goal advantage.

The teams return from the lemon break and the second half gets underway. Dortmund now kicking from left to right and Leverkusen the other way. It would be interesting to see whether the hosts change tack in the coming 45 minutes in the quest of an equaliser.

Leverkusen's worries mount as Dortmund have a second in the 65th minute! Karim Adeyemi comes up with a powerful, well-directed header in response to Fabio Silva's cross and BVB are now in the driver's seat.

Everything appears to be going Dortmund's way at the moment. With eight-odd minutes to come in regulation time, if Leverkusen have to mount an unlikely comeback, the time is NOW.

And almost on cue, Leverkusen net their opener in the 83rd minute! It's a perfect delivery from Ibrahim Maza, and Christian Kofane zooms ahead to get there in time and get enough of his foot on the ball to send it past Dortmund goalie Gregor Kobel.

Leverkusen can't find a second goal in the remaining time, plus the added five minutes. Dortmund thus emerge 2-1 victors in a game that was pretty evenly matched for the most part. Niko Kovac's side thus jumps to third with 25 points, while Leverkusen are fourth with 23.
