Barcelona 4-0 Lyon, UEFA Women's Champions League Final: Blaugrana Thump Les Fenottes To Clinch Fourth Title
Barcelona re-ascended the zenith of European women's football by thrashing their most storied opponent Lyon 4-0 in a superlative second-half display in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final on Saturday (May 23, 2026). Blaugrana forward Ewa Pajor had lost in her first five visits to the European summit clash but the former Wolfsburg star made her sixth attempt count with two goals. Pajor struck with a low shot in the 55th minute and a close-range finish in the 69th when the Barca attack was queuing up to score past the stretched Lyon defence. Salma Paralluelo turned the screw on Lyon by firing in a rising left-shot in the 90th and adding another slick finish in stoppage time. Barcelona have swept all four domestic and international trophies this season and are a four-time European champion in just six seasons.
