Hello and welcome back to another live blog! Augsburg Vs Bayern Munich coming up, stay tuned for all the live updates, with kick-off set for 10:00 PM IST.
The 2025-26 Bundesliga clash will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Network channels, with live streaming available on SonyLIV.
Bayern have dominated historically, winning 42 of the 60 meetings. Augsburg have claimed 12 victories, with six matches ending in draws. The Bavarians are on a five-match winning streak in this fixture since Augsburg’s DFB Cup second round win in 2023 and have completed a league double over Augsburg in each of the last three Bundesliga seasons.
The whistle goes and we’re underway in Augsburg! The home fans are in full voice, hoping their team can turn this into one of those famous nights. Bayern look sharp right from the first touch, but Augsburg will be desperate to remind them this isn’t going to be a stroll. Early nerves, early energy, the stage is set.
Big early scare for Augsburg! Michael Olise burst down the flank, twisted his marker inside out, and squared it perfectly for Luis Díaz. The Colombian had the goal gaping, but the ball popped up awkwardly and his finish skewed wide. Bayern already showing their teeth, Augsburg breathe again.
Luis Diaz is buzzing down that left flank and wins Bayern an early free-kick, keeping Augsburg pinned back. Just as the hosts try to break out, Dimitris Giannoulis is flagged offside, cutting short their move and frustrating the Fuggerstädter crowd.
Augsburg show flashes of bravery, breaking through Bayern’s press and working their way into the attacking third. But once they get there, the ideas dry up, the Fuggerstadter just can’t carve out that final telling chance.
Han-Noah Massengo shows a lovely first touch on the edge of the box and tries his luck, but the effort flies well wide of the post, letting Bayern off the hook. No shock in the stats either, possession sits at 62% for the Bavarians, with Augsburg chasing at 38% as the visitors control the rhythm.
Bayern strike first! Leon Goretzka slips Harry Kane into space on the left of the box, and the striker whips in a delicious cross. Serge Gnabry meets it perfectly with a header into the bottom corner, clinical from the champions. Augsburg 0-1 Bayern.
The first card of the night is out, Jeffrey Gouweleeuw goes into the book after a heavy challenge, and the Augsburg skipper will need to tread carefully from here.
That opener has opened the floodgates, Bayern are swarming forward now, finding acres of space and looking dangerous every time they enter the box. Trouble piling up for Augsburg too, as Mads Pedersen Wolf is down receiving treatment and looks unlikely to carry on.
Early blow for Augsburg as Wolf can’t continue and has to come off with what looks like a nasty leg injury. Elvis Rexhbecaj comes on to fill the gap, but losing one of their key full-backs is the last thing the Fuggerstadter needed while already chasing the game.
Bayern double their lead right on the stroke of half-time! Konrad Laimer slides a clever ball into the box, and Luis Díaz is there to pounce. A sharp left-footed finish into the bottom corner makes it Augsburg 0-2 Bayern, the champions in full control heading into the break.
The referee blows for half-time and Bayern head down the tunnel looking comfortable. Goals from Gnabry and Luis Diaz have them firmly in charge, while Augsburg have offered little to trouble the champions. The Fuggerstadter need a serious spark after the restart, or this could get ugly.
Bayern come out swinging after the break! Harry Kane threads a perfect pass into the box, and Michael Olise coolly slots it past the keeper with his right foot. Augsburg 0-3 Bayern, the champions are running riot early in the second half.
Augsburg pull one back! Robin Fellhauer delivers a perfect cross into the box, and Kristijan Jakic slots it home with a neat right-footed finish. Augsburg 1-3 Bayern, the Fuggerstädter finally on the scoresheet.
Augsburg strike again! Kristijan Jakic sets up Mert Kömür, who fires a crisp right-footed shot into the bottom corner. Augsburg 2-3 Bayern, the Fuggerstädter are closing the gap and making this a thrilling finish.
Close call for Augsburg! Dayot Upamecano rises at the near post and heads a dangerous ball from Joshua Kimmich, but Finn Dahmen dives perfectly to keep it out. The Fuggerstadter goalkeeper keeping his team in it as Bayern pile on the pressure.
Late drama as Cedric Zesiger picks up a yellow card for a late challenge, adding a final tense moment to an intense finish at the Bavarians’ end.
