Goalll...! Riyad Mahrez draws the first blood for Algeria as he gets on the end of a pass inside the box and strikes it into the bottom of the left corner of the net to get his team ahead in the 2nd minute of the game.

Algeria is still leading the game by 1-0 courtesy to Riyad Mahrez's brilliance earlier in the game. Sudan are trying hard to score an equalizer but haven't succeeded in doing so till now.

The whistle is blown by the referee and with it the players from both the teams head back to their respective dressing rooms. The score line is 1-0 in favour of Algeria at half-time.

Both the teams are back on the field for the 2nd half of the game. Sudan will be desperate to make a comeback and level the score.

The Sudanese side have climbed up the pitch a couple of times already, but nothing has come off from their efforts. Algeria are defending well and they know that another goal will seal a victory.

Just as we were speaking about a goal, Riyad Mahrez took it rather seriously to net his and Algeria's 2nd goal of the night. Nifty footwork from the former Man City man who is known for his wizardry with the ball.

He gets the ball at the edge of the 18-yard box and launches the ball into the middle.

Both Algeria and Sudan making a couple of substitutions to bring in fresh energy to the pitch in the final 20 minutes or so.

That's the 3rd one of the night by Algeria. It's Ibrahim Maza this time, who fires it in this time. He gets a perfect cross and Maza somehow manages to convert it into a goal despite not striking it perfectly.

That's the final whistle from the referee. Algeria dominates Sudan by winning the game 3-0 and opens their account in the AFCON Cup 2025 with 3 points.
