As Dickwella’s resistance began to frustrate the Indian players, Jaiswal came up with a plan to distract the batter. In the 60th over of Sri Lanka’s chase, Jaiswal poked at Dickwella, challenging him to replicate the shots he had played in the first innings.

YB: We will, 100 per cent. Come on, hit a six and I will take you to the IPL.

Although the chit-chat between both players was brief, the Sri Lanka batter probably had no idea that it was a trick to distract him that was spot on.

Dickwella went for a big shot in Krishna’s next over but only managed to edge the ball through to the wicketkeeper. He departed for 10 off 17 balls.
