England completed a 3–0 clean sweep of the T20I series in Sri Lanka with a 12-run victory in the third and final match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. After being put in to bat first, England managed a modest 128/9 in 20 overs, with Sam Curran top-scoring with a gritty 58 to anchor the innings.
Sri Lanka’s chase never quite got going as wickets fell at regular intervals, and they were eventually all out for 116 in 19.3 overs, falling short in a tense finish.
The turning point came in the 18th over of Sri Lanka’s innings when Jacob Bethell produced a devastating spell, taking three quick wickets to break the backbone of the home side’s chase and swing momentum decisively in England’s favour.
The disciplined bowling display sealed England’s series whitewash and gave the visitors confidence ahead of the much awaited T20 World Cup 2026.
