Ranji Trophy 2025-26 Round 2, Day 4: Mohammed Shami's Fifer Helps Bengal Beat Gujarat; MAH, J&K Also Win
Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, and Maharashtra emerged as the only three teams to register wins in the second round of the Ranji Trophy, while the rest settled for draws. Mohammed Shami delivered a sensational spell of 5/38 to guide Bengal to a 141-run victory over Gujarat at Eden Gardens. Jammu and Kashmir dominated Rajasthan, winning by an innings and 41 runs, while Maharashtra, led by Ankit Bawne, secured a hard-fought 144-run win over Chandigarh. Ruturaj Gaikwad was named Player of the Match for his knocks of 116 and 36* at the Sector 16 Stadium. Meanwhile, matches involving Services, Assam, Haryana, and Tripura also ended in stalemates, with no team from Elite Group A managing a win in this round.
