Lahore Qalandars have won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Peshawar Zalmi: Mohammad Haris, Babar Azam (C), Kusal Mendis (WK), Michael Bracewell, Abdul Samad, Farhan Yousaf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Aamer Jamal, Sufiyan Muqeem, Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana
Lahore Qalandars: Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Naeem, Haseebullah Khan (W), Abdullah Shafique, Sikandar Raza, Asif Ali, Usama Mir, Shaheen Afridi (C), Dunith Wellalage, Mustafizur Rahman, Ubaid Shah
Mohammad Haris' poor run of form continued as he departed after a 10-ball 18, failing to convert his positive start into something big but Peshawar have little reasons to worry.
Skipper Babar Azam and previous match's centurion Kusal Mendis are in the crease and have negotiated well so far.
Decent end to the powerplay from Peshawar as they are scoring runs at a rate of 7.75 per over with Babar Azam and Kusal Mendis' partnership reaching 44 runs. Lahore has to break this partnership at all costs.
This partnership is building up slowly and steadily but the run-rate has been kept in check - not even touching 8 runs per over, however, Babar and Kusal's stand is now 15 runs away from hitting triple figures for the 2nd time in a row.
Skipper Babar Azam departed in the previous over for 43 off 40 but Kusal Mendis could be heading towards his 2nd consecutive centiry as he reaches 72 off 46. He is now jointed by Michael Bracewell.
Peshawar Zalmi have set a target of 174 for Lahore Qalandars at the National Stadium. Kusal Mendis was the standout performer, smashing a brilliant 74 off 48 balls, while Babar Azam contributed a steady 27.
Despite a late flurry from Iftikhar Ahmed, Lahore’s bowlers fought back effectively. Shaheen Afridi and Mustafizur Rahman claimed two wickets each, restricting Zalmi to 173/7 in their 20 overs.
The 2nd innings is underway at the National Stadium in Karachi but Lahore have got off to a poor start, losing opener Mohammed Naeem in just the 2nd over, similar to what happened in their last match where they were folded for just 100.
A lot will depend on Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique
It is not going well for Lahore as they go down to 46/3 at the start of the 8th over and their run-rate is also hovering below the required rate of 10.29.
Oh no it went from bad to worse very quickly for the defending champions, who are going through that same thing once again, losing 8 wickets at the score of just 74. They still need 100 more in the remaining 7 overs but it seems highly unlikely.
Peshawar Zalmi need just one more wicket to win this game and extend their unbeaten run. Dunith Wellalage and Mustafizur Rahman are resisting but how long can they survive?
Well in the last match Lahore were at least able to post triple figures on the board, but today, it has been an even more shambolic performance. They have been blown away for just 97 by the Peshawar Zalmi side, who are now at the summit of the table with 9 points to their name.
This 76-run victory has boosted their run-rate to +3.103.
