Opting to bat first, Nigeria put up a fighting total of 166 runs on the scoreboard, thanks to Vincent Adewoye's breathtaking 42-run knock off just 18 balls. Earlier, Sesan Adedeji also played a decent 41-run knock but took 43 balls to score.
Chasing the target, Botswana batters never looked settle, losing their wickets at a regular interval of time. The scoring rate was also very low, due to which they could only score 122 runs in 20 overs. Joshua Asia was the star bowler for Nigeria, picking up four wickets and conceding only 11 runs.
Both teams are already out of the T20 World Cup qualification race. However, Nigera are still in the race to finish at the fifth place while Botswana will fight for the seventh place now.
Meanwile, Namibia recently defeated Tanzania by 63 runs in the 1st semi-final clash to seal their spot in the final and could meet the winner between Zimbabwe and Kenya. However, with this win, they have already secured their place in the next year's T20 World Cup.
