The match was defined by Devon Conway’s brilliance, who scored 227 in the first innings and 100 in the second, becoming Player of the Match. New Zealand piled up 575/8 declared in their first innings and followed it with 306/2 declared, setting West Indies an improbable chase.
West Indies showed fight in their first innings through Kavem Hodge’s 123 and Brandon King’s 55, reaching 420, but their batting collapsed in the second innings. Jacob Duffy (5/42) and Ajaz Patel (3/23) ripped through the visitors, leaving them well short of the target.
