New Zealand edged out England by two wickets in the third and final one-day international at the Sky Stadium in Wellington on Saturday (November 1, 2025). The BlackCaps thus completed a 3-0 whitewash, having already clinched the series 2-0 in the previous game.
England were bowled out for 222, having slumped to 44-4 at the end of the first 10-over power play before being saved by Jamie Overton (68 runs off 62) and Brydon Carse (36 off 30) in the lower order. In reply, the hosts began well but were desperate at the end, with two wickets remaining and 28 runs still needed to win.
But Zak Foulkes with 14 not out and Blair Tickner, with an unbeaten 18, saw the Kiwis home with 32 balls to spare.
The hosts cruised to a five-wicket win in the second ODI at Seddon Park, sealing the series in their favour with a game to spare. After bowling the tourists out for 175, thanks to Blair Tickner’s superb 4 for 34 on his return, the hosts chased down the target with 101 balls remaining.
