Thailand started their ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier 2026 campaign with an eight-wicket win over Nepal in match 1 on Sunday, January 18 at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.

Thailand chased down Nepal's 123-run target in 16.5 overs, losing only two wickets along the way. Natthakan Chantham stayed unbeaten on 57, while Thipatcha Putthawong (4/27) earlier scalped four wickets to help bowl Nepal out for 122.

Nepal are clubbed in Group B alongside Netherlands, Scotland, Thailand, Zimbabwe. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six stage. In the Super Six stage, teams will face the three teams qualified from the opposite group.

The top four teams at the end of the Super Six standings will qualify for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
