Nepal registered their fourth consecutive win in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia & EAP Qualifier 2025 with a five-run victory over Qatar in the Super Six clash at Al Amerat on Monday, October 13. Chasing 148, Qatar were bowled out for 142 with Sandeep Lamichhane picking up a match-winning five-wicket haul.

Nepal's batting was held together by captain Rohit Paudel who scored 58 off 41 deliveris to set up the foundation for a big score. However, losing four wickets for just six runs between the 15th and 18th over broke Nepal's momentum. Two sixes from Gulshan Jha and one from Sompal Kami then helped Nepal stretch their score to 147/9 in 20 overs.
Qatar captain Mirza Mohammed Baig picked up three wickets.
Qatar looked set for an upset victory when wicket-keeper Imal Liyanage was hitting boundaries at will. Liyanage alongside his opening partner Zubair Ali added 79 for the first wicket in 10 overs. Both of them scored fifties to reduce the equation to run-a-ball.
However, Lamichhane rose up to the occassion to trigger a dramatic collapse and Qatar went from 97/1 in 11.5 overs to 142 all out in 19.5 overs.
